THE STORY OF PAVEL DUROV AND THE START OF TELEGRAM & TON Many people use Telegram every day. The platform also gave birth to one of the largest crypto ecosystems connected to a messaging app. The story starts with Pavel @durov. EARLY SUCCESS WITH TELEGRAM After leaving Russia and his first company VK, Durov focused on building a secure messaging platform. He launched Telegram in 2013 with his brother Nikolai Durov. The goal was simple. • fast messaging • strong encryption • user privacy Telegram grew fast. Crypto communities adopted it early because of open groups and channels. Soon millions of traders, developers, and startups used Telegram to coordinate projects. THE IDEA FOR A TELEGRAM BLOCKCHAIN As Telegram expanded, Durov saw a problem. Messaging apps controlled massive networks of users. Payment systems and digital ownership still relied on traditional infrastructure. Durov wanted a blockchain built for scale. In 2018 Telegram introduced the idea of the Telegram Open Network, often called TON. The vision included • a high speed blockchain • crypto payments inside Telegram • decentralized services • digital identity and storage @ton_blockchain aimed to handle millions of users directly inside the messaging app. THE RECORD BREAKING FUNDING ROUND Telegram raised about 1.7 billion dollars from private investors. This became one of the largest crypto fundraises in history at the time. The network planned to launch with the token called Gram. REGULATORY SHUTDOWN Before launch, regulators in the United States intervened. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission argued the token sale violated securities laws. A legal battle followed. In 2020 Telegram stopped the project and returned funds to investors. Durov stepped away from the blockchain effort. THE COMMUNITY REVIVAL Even though Telegram shut down the original plan, open source developers continued the work. A group of independent developers launched a new network based on the original code. This network became The Open Network. The ecosystem later introduced the token Toncoin. Telegram later supported the network again through integrations. Today TON powers several features connected to Telegram. Examples include • crypto wallets • mini apps • creator payments • blockchain games WHY TON MATTERS TON connects a blockchain directly to one of the largest messaging networks in the world. This gives developers access to hundreds of millions of users. For Web3 builders this model matters. Distribution is often harder than technology. Telegram already solved the distribution problem. BUILDER LESSON The TON story shows how large platforms experiment with new infrastructure. Pavel Durov built a messaging network first. Then he explored how blockchain systems could run inside that network. Many founders now study this model. Build the network first. Then connect financial infrastructure to the network.

Good morning traders. Always better to check the bigger picture before jumping into positions. I tried the GetClaw AI trading agent and asked about BTC risk management. It highlighted the Extreme Fear sentiment and key levels traders should watch. Simple but very practical insight to start the day.
