This board confused Autism Awareness with Pride because that’s how out of touch they are with both the disabled and LGBTQ communities. Right wing ideology is not about “family values”; it’s about hating anything that makes you uncomfortable.

This is a victory for Georgia voters, but this is just one piece of a much larger voter suppression bill built upon the lies and conspiracy theories that Donald Trump and his allies have pushed since the 2020 election. The fight to protect voting rights continues in GA.

So it is possible?? Funny how other states can figure it out, but Georgia can't-a state with a multibillion-dollar surplus. 🤔🤔 Expand Medicaid NOW! #gapol

The Arc of the United States
The SSI program was designed to combat poverty among people w/ disabilities. But SSI’s outdated rules do the opposite—forcing people to live in poverty. Today, we celebrate the introduction of the SSI Savings Penalty Elimination Act. Learn more: thearc.org/blog/new-bipar… #UpdateSSI

While @GovKemp has suspended the gas tax to be offset by our states surplus. I would like to note that hard-working #Georgians are still paying tax for menstrual products and diapers here in Georgia! These are essential products that each family uses and we can eliminate the tax on these items! This is something we need to get #choppin on!
Governor Brian P. Kemp@GovKemp

Today, I signed an Executive Order suspending the state gas tax, because hardworking Georgians deserve real relief from the disastrous effects of Bidenomics. Read more here: madmimi.com/p/aebf371/

Why don’t disabled people vote, you ask? When you pass legislation that creates accessibility barriers, you stop disabled people from voting. It’s literally that simple. The better question is; Why are Republicans so ableist?

Signature match is an ableist and racist tool of voter suppression, and it’s disgusting to see the city of Atlanta use it as part of their verification process. Our full statement is coming, but we continue to be fully against Cop City and believe we should let the people decide.

“But Georgia Democrats who have long pushed for full Medicaid expansion blasted the governor’s program Thursday. Georgia, which has one of the highest uninsured rates in the country, is one of 10 states that have not expanded Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act.” #gapol

In America, over half of our unhoused citizens are disabled in some way. There is no real system to provide housing or assistance to disabled people, and if your state does have something, the waitlist is over a year long. We’re tried of being 2nd class citizens.
