#TradingLessons There are broadly 5 types of markets : 1) Bullish - Strongly trending 2) Bullish - Weakly trending 3) Bearish - Strongly trending 4) Bearish - Weakly trending 5) Range-bound / Non-trending Your first step in trading is to identify the current type of the markets, in nifty 50 or 500. There are different ways to identify from simple ways (MA) to more complex ways ( my favourite cpr pivots). Here I will teach the simplest way. Bullish - Strongly trending:( opposite is bearish strongly trending) 1) 20 ma > 50 ma with both always rising 2) Distance between 20 ma and 50 ma is large and getting larger. 3) Pullbacks in price reach only to 20 MA or at the most between 20 to 50 MA; not till 50 ma. Bullish - Weakly trending: ( opposite is bearish weekly trending) 1) 20 ma is mostly above 50 ma, but not always. 2) 50 ma is rising but 20 ma is fluctuating/ mostly rising / flat 3) Distance between 20 ma and 50 ma changes frequently. 4) Pullbacks reach all the way to 50 MA Rangebound 1) 20 ma spends as much time above and below 50 ma 2) 50 ma is mostly flat, whole 20 ma varies from rising to falling. 3) Distance between 20 ma and 50 ma varies greatly. 4) Rallies and selloffs easily pass through both the MAs In swing trading, you have to invariably assess what is the current market conditions. If for eg, bullish strongly trending, then you have to select those trading strategies that fit into this market condition, to improve your odds of success. In a bullish strongly trending general market when you swing trade down trending stocks, your odds of success will not be in your favor. Watch out for very simple swing trading strategies using basic indicators under each of these general marhet conditions in my feed in coming days….
