CLARIFICATION ON ALLEGED ATTACK ON ARCHBISHOP KAZIIMBA IN BOSTON 4th May 2026: Church of Uganda has taken note of a video circulating on social media alleging that the Archbishop of Church of Uganda, The Most Rev Dr. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu, was attacked during a Church service at St Peter's Anglican Church, Boston, United States of America. We wish to categorically clarify that this narrative is false and misleading. The Archbishop is currently in the United States on official duties. During a recent service in Boston, a brief disruption was caused by a small group of individuals who have not yet been identified. The situation was promptly contained, and the service proceeded without further interruption. @Archbp_COU was not harmed in any way. He remains safe and continues to execute his ministry as scheduled during his international visit. We urge the public to disregard the misleading claims, particularly those designed to create unnecessary anxiety and confusion. Here is the full video of the Service: youtube.com/live/n5_ngFxfx…

Earlier today we had a fruitful dialogue on faith sector health & HIV financing. The dialogue attracted participants from various faiths and medical bureaus including officials from @MinofHealthUG @aidscommission among others. A call for national insurance scheme was re-echoed.

Our position on the Protection of Sovereignty Bill is that in its current form, the bill violates a number of fundamental rights and thus should be revised.
