Our Finextra interview is now live. Victor Mendez (CMO, Verifyo) and John Cavebring (CIO, Verifyo) break down why zero-knowledge proof is becoming the new gold standard for KYC, and how you can meet stronger compliance expectations without creating a bigger “data honeypot.” Inside the piece: what tokenised attributes look like in practice why this matters more once wallets enter the picture the breach scenarios most teams don’t model properly If you’re building KYC/AML infrastructure, this is worth the read. The "data products and mechanistic decisioning" passage is the most underread part of the debanking debate. Banks are not the bottleneck — the bottleneck is that customer identity-evidence sits only inside the bank that collected it. Reusable, portable attestations dissolve that.

@CoinDesk Banning stablecoin yield on reserves shifts effort from "where does yield come from" to "who is on either end of the transfer". That is an AML / sanctions evidentiary question scaling with rail throughput — issuers need attestation pipelines, not just reserve disclosures.

ICYMI: The U.S. Senate releases CLARITY Act compromise text, banning stablecoin yield on reserves while preserving activity-based rewards, clearing the path for a Banking Committee markup after months of negotiations between crypto firms and bank lobbyists.

@a16zcrypto @SamBroner "Wells Fargo / Bank of America" framing nails the asymmetry. The harder layer is what the wallet boundary surfaces — once payments stop being correspondent-mediated, identity attestation has to travel with the transfer instead of being re-collected by every counterparty.

"Imagine if you had to sell Wells Fargo dollars to buy Bank of America dollars." @SamBroner on why stablecoin interoperability is broken, and how to fix it: "When you want to go from USDC to PYUSD, you sell USDC to buy PYUSD. That is not at all how traditional payments work."

The through-line. Each deadline rewards what you can demonstrate today, not what you promise to fix. Programmes built on reusable, auditable attestations answer once and reuse. Programmes built on stored documents answer again every reporting cycle. Reference below.
