Using a reusable water bottle is a great way to reduce the amount of waste I throw away as I no longer have to use different plastic non-reusable water bottles everyday. #apeswaste@franklinlorax
I try to use reusable water bottles instead of plastic water bottles as much as I can. Plastic takes a long time to decompose, up to hundreds of years! By using a reusable water bottle, I am reducing the amount of plastic that needs to be broken down! #apeswaste@franklinlorax
@MS507855apes@franklinlorax With less vehicles driving around, the air has definetly been cleaner! By biking, you are reducing the pollutants in the air!
Because of the stay-at-home order, I’ve been driving a lot less and biking more to keep occupied. This is a much cleaner form of transportation and helps to improve air quality! @franklinlorax#apesair
Most cars emit harmful greenhouse gases into the air. Car pollution is one of the major causes of global warming and overall climate change. #apesair@franklinlorax
@FranklinSabers Happy Earth Day! Something I do everyday is turn off my lights when I can use natural sunlight during the day time. This way, we can save more energy and use it wisely! #GainFHSAPES
As I look outside my window, I see no cars at all. Vehicles are a major pollution contributer because they burn gasoline which intoxicates the air. With less cars outside, the air pollution daily has taken a decrease!

One way to save energy consumption is to unplug any unnecessary cords. These outlets are powered by the Oak Creek power plant which supplies energy to all of our houses. #apesenergy@franklinlorax
These outlets around my house are used very often to charge our computers, cell phones, and more! The power plant that allows this electricity to enter my house is coal! #apesenergy@franklinlorax
As mentioned in our mining notesheet, rocks are substances made up of multiple minerals and trace organic material. Granite, as shown in this picture, contains many minerals and is a perfect example of a rock. @franklinlorax#apesland
@SophieH06991554@franklinlorax Good point! Lumber is used to make everyday things that we use in our homes. Wood makes up a lot of furniture in many homes!
My dining room table is made out of pine wood. Lumber is used most for construction materials to make things such as paper and furniture like this. Wood is also used for many other things that we use in everyday life. @franklinlorax#apesland
My countertop is made of granite. Granite is an igneous rock, which means it was formed through the solidification and cooling of magma. @franklinlorax#apesland
My drawers along with many other components in my house are made of wood. Logging or more commonly described as cutting trees and selling it is what occurs in order to eventually be made into many products. #apesland@franklinlorax
@MS507855apes@franklinlorax Good point! By using less gas, our ecological footprints are heavily affected by how much fuel we use to drive ourselves around.
my dad’s car averages about 30mpg which is very fuel efficient! He is doing a great job lessening his ecological footprint by using this vehicle @franklinlorax#apespop
@AT507913apes@franklinlorax Good point! Packaged foods are very bad for our ecological footprint. Eating less prepackaged foods can really help the population!
