The DPP regime’s trend of suspending or transferring CEOs to tertiary institutions is very misplaced and ill-advised. There are some CEOs who were performing well, despite having been hired by Chakwera’s regime or marked as belonging to MCP. Don’t prioritize political revenge.

What the Secretary to the President and Cabinet is doing, pushing senior executives such as CEOs of government-owned enterprises on secondment to universities, is not good and endangers the quality of our university education. I have been a lecturer before. You've got to be motivated to deliver. If someone who had no plans of being a lecturer is pushed to do the job, they won't have the motivation. In the end, we will have half-baked graduates.
If you don't want these professionals, honour the terms of the contract by paying them what is due to them, instead of converting the universities as a dumping ground.

Congress, the writing seems to be on the wall. The failure to persuade independent MPs to vote for the great Hon. Peter Dimba, whom I hold in highest regard, says a lot about how ineffectual the party has become. To make a difference, there will be a need for radical thinking. As it is, the party will die like the United Democratic Front or Zambia's United National Independence Party, bleeding a few seats and influence at a time.

We have a struggling university education currently with rapidly dwindling, decaying & dying standards due to poor financing, poor leadership, lack of infrastructural growth to accomodate growing numbers. While we clap hands for this noble move, we must also remain very fearful!

Malawi’s new president, Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika, has abolished school fees for both primary and secondary education. This is an excellent start, and I applaud him for it. It is a truly progressive move because education remains the only real way out of poverty for the African child. Without education, Africa will never move forward. I fully support this decision by the president and hope that Malawi will raise sufficient tax revenue to sustain it by cutting down corruption which gone wild under former president, Pastor Lazarus Chakwera. There is nothing more important than education. Coming from a man I once doubted because of his age, I have to take my hat off and say, I salute you for this important decision, Mr President.
