I'm so pleased to share the latest work from @Y_Lin_Evo! She found extensive variation in germline de novo mutation rate in guppies, with interesting implications about the genetic basis of rapid adaptation. biorxiv.org/content/10.110… with @IDarolti @_Axeman_ and Jake Morris!

The version of record is out @GBE of @Square_Hare's first dissertation chapter-Evolutionary History of the Poecilia picta Sex Chromosomes. Lydia found that the rate of sex chromosome divergence is often highly heterogenous, even over short time frames. academic.oup.com/gbe/article/15…

So pleased to see this out! An awesome analysis and review of how developmental differences can fool phylogenetic comparative studies of gene expression. Led by @PeterDPrice & @alielw with @ChrisCooney101 @dhdpalmer @TheaFRogers and others.

Detecting signatures of selection on gene expression rdcu.be/cNukP @alielw et al review the main approaches, link phylogenetic comparative methods and transcriptomics, and use simulations to show that shifts in tissue composition can bias inferences of selection.
