No. Becoming a pastor does not legally “clear” or erase someone’s past crimes, even if they have genuinely repented and abandoned crime. What the law sees Criminal liability is based on acts committed and proof, not on later lifestyle or religious status.If that person committed bank robbery and murder (or manslaughter), those are serious criminal offences and the state can still investigate and prosecute, regardless of whether the person is now a religious leader. In most legal systems, confession or repentance may be a mitigating factor at sentencing, but it does not extinguish the crime itself.

Lawyers in the house, if someone admits that he has robbed banks (possibly in the process has killed many), but then after escaping by the whiskers, decided to abandon the robbery business & becomes a Pastor, does that legally cleared him of all the crimes he has committed in the past?
