Homelander's speed inconsistency in the Season 5 finale was one of the most annoying talking points for me too. Early on we see him casually yeeting to space and back in seconds, speed-blitzing people, yet in the final fight he's getting held down and can't just fly out or end it quick? It felt like they nerfed him hard for the plot. Kinda took me out of the moment. The ending was still brutal, but damn the powerscaling was all over the place.

It’s easy butcher with compound V is stronger then butcher with temporary V Ryan is physical superior to Huey and solid boy lol the power scaling isn’t messed up in any way

@anythingaboute2 Thats after Butcher fought with HL solo. And that boost comes out of nowhere. Butcher and Ryan had slower reactions everytime they cross HL this Season. Yet at the finale they somehow alot faster with no upgrades. Kimiko would've made sense atleast.

@anythingaboute2 Except Butcher was fighting him alone when Kimiko got hit with the laser. And if we going off reaction speed Homelander was shown to react to Frenchie's 2 taps in the matter of seconds. Its just BS writing.

@Yams40K So ? He wasn’t overpowering homelander or fighting him alone here as for speed combat speed & reaction speed are different from travel speed and it simply because butcher and his son are relative to him in those categories that’s how they were able to prevent him from escaping

@I_Am_CyberSmith @aecFanart18 What are u talking about?? they had everything they needed in S3 and it still didn't work. Ryan was also shown to be easily man handled in the previous episode by Homelander. Powerscaling would've kept that consistent.

@aecFanart18 3, one of whom was his own son. And yes, him being ganged up on by a group of weaker supes was established as a possibility as early as Season 3, they just never had what they needed for that all in one place before.

I will never get over the power scaling Not even Soldier Boy + Butcher and Hughie on V could hold down a normal homelander But Butcher + Ryan somehow did and mind you soldier boy is literally stronger than both of them
