Name an under-the-radar player that deserves to be an All-Star right now.

@YankeesOnly87 @YankeesFiles No one said it was a bad thing. My point is every year they are expected to win. And they haven’t since 2009.. therefore I used the word fraud. Not too complicated. I actually have a lot of respect for the Yankees history. But they are what they are atm.

“They’re not a good team. I don't care what their record is. They have a lot of wild pitches, they make a lot of mistakes in the field, and they don't run the bases well.”

@YankeesOnly87 @YankeesFiles I’m not dissing the Jays. It’s facts. I can be honest about my team. Late 90’s.. early 00’s.. the team had ZERO expectations. Being a fan of a team doesn’t mean I need to be blind to reality. Yankees enter every year as division favs on the books and one of the WS favs.

@NorthSideCapper @YankeesFiles Lol a) you're the one that used the last time the Yankees won the world series as criteria for them being frauds. If making the WS means a team isn't a fraud, the Yankees made it in '24 B) are you dissing the blue Jays for having low expectations? Weird move

1. They have been to a World Series more recently than the Yankees. 2. The expectation for the Yankees is a World Series every year. That’s just a fact. Every year is WS or bust given the history and tradition. The Jays haven’t been a contender or expected to contend for many of those years since 93… a lot of really bad years in between lol.

@YankeesFiles They didn’t when it was said. Finished 2nd in the division and didn’t even goto the WS. Yankees have been frauds since 2009.

@AndThatsBB $550 face value behind come plate ( friend's season tickets. First WS game I've ever been to. Went from from the best to worst game ever. I was sick, almost didn't go. Also got laid off the next week and the 2024 election happened. A very bad week for me

@GreenfieldMax18 He might be their nominal 5th even if his results end up making him better than that

As of right now, the Yankees have the #1, #3, #13, and #33 pitcher fWAR. The #33 guy might be out of the rotation in a month and the #13 guy might become their 5th starter. Incredible

Comment the best nickname you have for Aaron Judge and Ben Rice as a duo. Our favorite gets a free shirt!

As of right now, the Yankees have the #1 (Schlittler) and #2 (Fried) pitchers and the #2 (Judge) and #4 (Rice) position players in baseball by fWAR. Pretty cool imo

@JacobBSpeaks diving deeper is one thing but acting like it always predicts the future is another. “underlying data” okay, so why do slumps happen? why does one bad call change the whole calculus? the intangibles are what a lot of analytics guys are uncomfy with but are where the magic lives.

I’ve never understood the hatred for baseball analytics. No other sport has tracked data like baseball has. Analytics have been a part of the game for over 50 years. It allows fans to dive deeper into the game they love. It’s a game for the nerds and has been for a LONG time.

@JacobBSpeaks Reading box scores in newspapers is for manly chads, as long as the box scores only mention BA, HRs, and RBIs

@geneglass24 @STL_Stats_Facts I think it's entirely possible that pitchers are throwing harder now than ever before even compared to Nolan Ryan because athletes have continued to break records across the board

@YankeesOnly87 @STL_Stats_Facts That was never my point. I agreed, as you said, the power arms are everywhere. The point was the speeds now are measured different. They are not retiring harder than Ryan like the guns say. That was literally my only point.
