Year 2 enjoyed baking cupcakes to celebrate King Charles III’s coronation last week. They used important skills like weighing and measuring.

Year 2 have been learning about William the Conqueror and using the Bayeux tapestry to learn the story of The Battle of Hastings.

Thank you to all of you who could make it to Year 2s history event yesterday. We hope you were impressed by the children’s knowledge. For those who couldn’t make it we hope you enjoyed looking at the lap books that the children made to bring home.

A great start to the new year with some excellent shape work in maths.

In Science the children are considering how animals can be grouped and classified. Later we will introduce the concept of grouping based on their habitats.

In science we have been learning about the 7 life processes. We used these to sort things into the groups living, dead and never alive.

This afternoon we have transformed our classroom into an art gallery. We are exploring the different still life paintings and discovering the artists who created them.

Year 2 bears have been composing their own rhythm and practising when to clap and when to rest.
