Subnautica 2 is a pacifist ideology woven into a game. Players have noticed you cannot defend yourself against attacking fish. Not even in self defense. Only passive means are available. This was by design. You can't kill anything because the devs feel it would support gun violence and aspects of colonialism: "Subnautica is one vote towards a world with less guns. A reminder that there is another way forward." "We want people to feel like they're learning to adapt to the world, rather than being a conqueror or dominator." "We aren't a killing game. Go play Sons of the Forest or something if you want to kill." The anti-violence stance got stronger from Subnautica 1 -> 2, which now has a complete "no kill" policy even when the fish can still kill *you*.

@symphinx @YamiryuNoKage @Fleechiru Sure, i can understand that, but arguing that its a good thing the pokemon was designed to be obtusely bad with it's 95/35 attack stats is odd. Someone on development clearly wanted it to be at least ok, and it is past gen 4, so its kind of a bummer it isnt i gen 2

@YellowPikmin23 @YamiryuNoKage @Fleechiru My point about Sneasel is that its role in GSC is as a collector’s prize for finishing the game and seeking out completing the Pokédex, so it’s okay if its battle potential is non existent.

@symphinx @YamiryuNoKage @Fleechiru Great, but not only does sneasel have worse stab attacking stats, you can't do a "sneasel only run" of gsc bc of its placement. I don't understand your point im afraid.

@symphinx @YamiryuNoKage @Fleechiru sure, but tyranitar has these things and solid stats, and is a beloved pokemon. I don't really understand what you're arguing here, i dont think sneasel being bad in gen 2 is a major game design issue, but i wish it was better.

@symphinx @YamiryuNoKage @Fleechiru sure, but a pokemon is a bit cooler and more likely to be liked if it doesnt suck. I love both the gen 2 and 4 johto games, but the pokemon distribution and balancing is a pretty weak aspect of them imo
