Remember what I said in the CAR thread (x.com/AskMichaelTaiw…), Relationship matters more than Capacity and Achievement?
A group interview is essentially a day-long Relationship test in disguise.
If you understand this one thing alone, you are already ahead of 80% of the room.
When I told a fellow interviewee that I got the job, she said, “I’m not surprised, you were moving different that day.”
How was I moving “different?”
Three things.
1. Mindset
2. Preparation
3. Tactics.
In that order.
Mindset first because if your mindset is wrong, no tactic will save you lol

I interviewed people for Shell for years. Here’s how to get in. 🧵 These tips will help you for other O&G companies too because they basically copy each other. Same concepts. Different buzz words.

This is me during my Shell Recruitment Day in November 2011.
1hr after the whole day group interview, I got the phone call I can never forget, “Congratulations, they all loved you. When can you start?”
If you have an upcoming group interview where they put a bunch of you together in a room and give you a task to work on together, then sit up.
I will tell you my secrets.
I don’t need them anymore and it can help you land your dream job.
They are what I used during my SRD.
I have given the same playbook to many mentees who used them to land their dream jobs in various companies.
So, trust me, this works.

I remembered i had this experience in 2016. I felt like a computer god then i started making mischief on my colleagues computers. The ego that i had when they all started to beg me to return it to its normal screen lol

My computer screen decided to go upside down (sideways actually). Now sure of what I mistakenly pressed. How do I return to normal position?

I am not an angry Nigerian. I'm just frustrated that Nigeria has too many talented people and has the funds to create a better life for them.
As a student in Nigeria, I spent 8 years trying to get an ND and an HND. I left Nigeria about 4.5 years ago, completed a master's, received a prestigious fellowship, started a PhD, received an American Einstein visa, and have worked at three Fortune 500 companies.
Nigeria should not suck the life out of talented people—or anyone for that matter—the way it does.

@AskMichaelTaiwo If people have not called you a madman in what you do, you have not really master what you do then.
