I think a $10 tip on a $230 meal is reasonable. I left a $10 tip, but the waiter didn't take it well at all. He actually told me that if I couldn't afford to tip more, I shouldn't be dining out.
What was I supposed to do? I only had $10 cash in my wallet. He provided good service, and I appreciate that, but I guess I'll make sure to bring more cash next time in case something like this happens again.
