How would I backtest a macro? Test if the x:50 to x:10 move gave a positive/negative result. You could document if it: -Started the move -Finished the move -Gave a reentry for the move -Did nothing (consolidated) -Invalidated the setup You’ll need to gather a lot of datapoints in various markets over different periods of time to get an actual view. Make your life easier by being very consistent with your log entry to be able to filter it later (did nothing and consolidate are two different log entries on a filter basis). Use Google sheets, excel, or a similar program so you can actually analyze your data. You may also realize another angle you want to track stats on.
