Genuine question about Liverpool recruitment under Slot…
He was brought in for continuity with Klopp’s style, and Alonso was apparently not the “right fit” for that system.
Yet the targets we’re heavily linked with now don’t really look like Klopp-profile players at all.
Frimpong, Wirtz, Wharton… all feel closer to a different system entirely.
What’s actually going on here?
This isn’t a dig at Szobo but he made the most backwards passes this season. It’s a breath of fresh air watching Wharton. Our set up has to be more positive next season and up the damn tempo.
@Uptotherewithit@shouq_al90149@FlyFifer10 I think old people like you shouldn’t come to my country without sending a bank or insurance statement with a guarantee of minimum £100000 in advance in case you need healthcare when here.
@shouq_al90149@FlyFifer10 We should only offer emergency, life saving service for foreigners who haven’t paid into the NHS for at least three years unless they’re invited TRUE asylum cases.
@JotaBelieveIt We are not getting anybody except Slot. When he gets the sack in October none of the top ones are available and next season is fucked. Unbelievable that the responsible people in the club can’t see that. Obviously there is no grownups at home.
@JotaBelieveIt I wonder when the famous 115 will hit ManC.. They shouldn’t be favorites to anything that happens in the Premier League because they shouldn’t be there.
Only the blind - willful or otherwise - or the ignorant have to wonder why the animosity towards Slot is so intense. Slot has come under attack in a way that none of his predecessors have because Slot has done things none of his predecessors have done:
-20 losses in one season
-53 league goals conceded (most in club history)
-77 goals conceded in all competitions (2nd most in club history)
-21 set piece goals conceded (most in PL this season)
-60 points in the PL (2nd lowest in club history, 24 pts fewer than last season)
-Just 10 clean sheets in the league
The football is 💩, the vast majority of the team has regressed, top players don’t want to play for him, he rarely talks accountability, and his takes are completely delusional. He honestly believes injuries were the reason for the drop off this season.
He has my thanks for the Premier League, but this season has been totally unacceptable and all the credit he once had has now been spent. He’s overstayed his welcome, should’ve been sacked in November after the stretch of games from the 9th thru the 26th, which included a 3-0 loss to City, and 3-0 and 4-1 defeats to Forest and PSV at Anfield.
'The level of opprobrium that has rained down on Arne Slot has, on many occasions, crossed the line.
'Liverpool fans have always had high standards, but Slot has come under attack in a way that none of his predecessors have done and it is hard not to wonder why the animosity towards him is so intense.'
@DKingTelegraph looks at how things have turned so toxic at Liverpool ⤵️

@TheRochaSays@TeleFootball The teams downfall started already in February /March last year. What’s the excuse for that? We didn’t only have a bad season, we had more than a calendar year of shit football. Responsible is Slot, not injuries, not Jota not new players arriving after the downfall started.
Agreed. It’s been abusive the last few months…especially from people who run channels like Anfield Agenda. The entitlement of some of my fellow Liverpool fans (some of whom started supporting the club under Klopp) has been ridiculous to witness.
I’ve seen us have bad seasons before and there was always patience and hope from the fanbase. But these reactions have been insane. Yeah. It was a shit season, but it’s not like we had a fully healthy squad firing on all cylinders and Slot fucked us. We tragically lost Jota, lost Isak to a broken leg, lost Connor and Leoni to season ending injuries, Frimpong was injured a lot, Alisson missed games, Ekitike tore his Achilles a few weeks ago, Kerkez and Wirtz struggled to adapt, Gakpo and Mac Allister, Salah, Robbo and Virgil all dropped in quality to varying degrees, Chiesa was useless, we also lost Endo for the season, and Curtis Jones and Konate were inconsistent all season. Yet we still managed to qualify for the Champions League. Slot deserves one more season to see if he can turn it around. And, as frustrated as we are, we need to give him a shot to do it.

Arne Slot informed the players he will be the head coach next season a few weeks ago. Remains to be seen if that has changed however he is certainly planning for next season with him putting forward names like Yan Diomande and Marco Palestra.
@WilsonCoxLFC Never in all my years as a Liverpool supporter I have heard a manager or coach talking about names of possible transfers. In Liverpool the news comes after the player has signed the contract. Two possibilities:
1-Slot is stupid
2-What you write isn’t true
