I have lost more friends, subscribers, and followers this week than ever in my life. I’m typically a neutral person, but I just can’t get over the rejoicing of a public assassination. Here’s an even more sickening part: I’m a father of two beautiful girls, white, conservative, Christian. I don’t agree with everything Charlie has said, but the rejoicing shows me that every one of those people would also want me dead. It’s like this weird elephant in the room I never realized was so bad has now been unveiled, and I’m not sure what happens from here. And before we start bringing up every catastrophe that I wasn’t vocal about (or at least you didn’t see me vocal about), my heart breaks for all of them. I don’t have it in my heart to find joy in death. Maybe it’s best to largely look away for the weekend.
