The Finisher Who Quietly Powered India’s World Cup Triumph One of the most exhilarating aspects of sport is the surge of adrenaline experienced during the tense final moments of a contest. The racing heartbeat and the nervous anticipation about the outcome are what make sport truly special. One is reminded of the iconic final cycle race scene in the movie Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar. Aamir Khan’s character is trailing in second place as the finish line approaches and appears to be struggling to overtake his rival. He patiently waits until the very last moment before shifting gears, unleashing a final burst of speed that propels him past his opponent just before the finish line. That decisive last push is often what separates victory from defeat — and it is precisely the role that Shivam Dube played for India in the recently concluded T20 World Cup. For much of the tournament, Dube’s contributions flew under the radar amid the flamboyant Strokeplay of top-order batters who scored the bulk of the runs. However, a closer look at his performances reveals that his innings in several matches were invaluable in shaping the final outcome. They were quiet, selfless contributions — the kind that often escape widespread attention when the spotlight naturally gravitates towards bigger individual scores by players like Samson, Sharma, Kishan or Pandya. Yet, Dube’s role was every bit as crucial in enabling India to lift the trophy for the second time in succession. For some time now, India had been searching for a quintessential T20 finisher — someone capable of transforming a competitive total into a daunting one during the final overs. Too often, India’s innings tended to plateau around the 180–190 mark rather than pushing beyond the psychologically significant 200-run barrier. Hardik Pandya has long been entrusted with this finishing role, but like many power hitters, he sometimes requires a few deliveries to settle before launching his assault. In the modern era of T20 cricket, however, every ball is precious and such luxuries are increasingly rare. Shivam Dube has stepped into this space impressively. His ability to generate power with a natural bat swing and his capacity to strike cleanly from the very first ball make him particularly dangerous in the closing overs. When only a handful of deliveries remain, that immediate impact becomes invaluable. A glance at his contributions throughout the tournament illustrates this perfectly: • 23 (16) vs Namibia • 27 (17) vs Pakistan • 66 (31) vs Netherlands • 42 (37) vs South Africa • 8* (4) vs West Indies (virtual quarter-final) • 43 (25) vs England (semi-final) • 26* (8) vs New Zealand (final) These innings consistently elevated India’s totals from merely competitive to overwhelmingly imposing, often placing the target just beyond the opposition’s reach. In fact, following India’s crucial match against West Indies, both Jasprit Bumrah and coach Gautam Gambhir specifically acknowledged Dube’s contribution — particularly the two boundaries he struck in the 19th over which ensured that India needed only seven runs in the final over to complete the chase comfortably. Such moments may appear modest on the scoreboard, but in the broader context of a match they can significantly influence the final result. India’s triumph in this World Cup was truly the product of a collective effort, with every player fulfilling his role to perfection. Within that larger team narrative, Shivam Dube’s contributions were quietly pivotal — and no less impactful than those of the more celebrated performers whose names ultimately dominate the headlines.

@Masterji_UPWale @bhupendrachaube This story is too perfect to be believed, but then stories are made to inspire and not to be proved .. hope this too inspires people to help someone needy silently without them expecting the thank you note you got from the beneficiary, cos more often than not it won’t happen ..

My wife and I were having dinner at a restaurant in Bengaluru. There was a young couple sitting next to us. You could tell it was a special night. We overheard bits of their conversation..New job, finally some stability, something worth celebrating. They looked genuinely happy. Then their bill came. The card didn’t go through. They tried another. Declined. You could see the shift instantly. The smiles faded. They started quietly discussing what to remove, what they could actually afford. My wife looked at me. I didn’t say anything. Just called the waiter and asked him to add their bill to ours. We told him not to mention us. Just say it’s taken care of. We left before they could turn around. Didn’t want a thank you. Just wanted them to finish their night the way it began. We forgot about it. Three years later, a letter arrived at our home. Somehow, they had tracked us down. The waiter remembered us. Helped them find us. The letter said they were getting married. That night, the one we barely remembered… was their first proper date after months of struggle. Their first moment of relief after a long, difficult phase. They wrote: “Someone paying our bill made us believe that good people still exist. We carried that feeling through everything that came after.” They invited us to their wedding. We didn’t know them. But we went anyway. They introduced us to everyone.. “These are the people who showed us kindness when we needed it the most.” We danced at their wedding. We teared up during their Vows. Somehow, we felt like family. Today, they have a baby. They send us pictures, festival wishes, little updates from their life. And we’re a part of their story… because of one small moment. Sometimes family isn’t blood. It’s just people who chose to see you. #SundayStories

The answer lies your question… think deeply why US suddenly changed its course and cozied up to pak after India damaged multiple air bases and probably bombed close to a nuclear facility in pak .. who would have thought india would penetrate pak defenses without getting a scratch themselves with superior air defence system.. US doesn’t like emerging powers and they learnt their lessons from emergence of CHINA .. The understanding doesn’t require much analysis unless you are deeply invested in pakistani agenda ..

How did Pak endear itself to Trump despite being China's ally? Why did this happen after Op Sindoor? How does Pak have pact with Saudi yet be acceptable to Iran as mediator? If Indian experts are truly patriotic, they'll analyse these questions rather than blabber like juveniles

You will have to raise the issue of the TCS-Nashik horror. Rajdeep Sardesai won't, you will have to. Ravish Kumar won't, you will have to. Rana Ayyub won't, you will have to. Arfa Khanum Sherwani won't, you will have to. Mohammad Zubair & Pratik Sinha are waiting for something, so that they can take the heat off the accused in this case and instead victim blame and blame you for communalizing a deeply communal issue. So you will have to raise this issue. There will be no social media protests or ground protests, no community will be asked hard questions. Instead any emotionally charged comment from you, will be used against you, for attacking an entire community. This case goes against the Leftists-Muslim ideological worldview. The perpetrators are Muslims, the victims are Hindus, so they will not touch this topic. You will have to keep talking about it, they will not. The first day Times of India published this story, they did not even name the accused, in fear of the above ecosystem accusing them of being communal.

Credit to this guy but i am amazed so many people find this video as some kind of revelation and don’t know application of simple mathematics in real life .. school level science and mathematics is widely used everyday in small workshops right from carpentry to metal working & small chemical process plants like paint manufacturing .. guess people have no idea how SMEs work

It’s cringe for media anchors to ask guests to sing one of Asha Bhosle’s songs while they grieve her passing. Do you guys have no brain cells left? You want people to sing when someone has died? Grief isn’t a karaoke night. What next, background dancers and disco lights? It’s not just cringe, it’s intellectually bankrupt. Basic human decency isn’t that hard. When someone passes, you pause, you reflect, you listen. You don’t turn mourning into prime-time entertainment.

Near total silence on the TCS Nashik case on LinkedIn. My network of advertising & marketing folks are usually vocal on political issues on that platform speaking up for 'minorities'. Strategic 'ignore' has been activated now. Even if someone posts on the topic I could see comments like 'why are you posting such on LinkedIn?'

Why not a single mainstream media is picking up this story .. such is the clout of money and influence that TCS has been able to silence the entire Right to Left leaning media outlets and so called independent journalists who vouch for gold standard journalism … HYPOCRISY of such journalists is getting exposed

Hindu women were blackmailed, fed beef, coerced to convert, and sexually assaulted by their Muslim team leads. For four years. Their complaints were ignored. The women worked in @TCS, that just reported a revenue of 2.6 lac crores. TCS is yet to issue a statement or an apology.
