A historic achievement for Euro-Atlantic security that brings new opportunities for the American energy sector: the Baltic states have cut energy ties to Russia. Congratulations to Estonia 🇪🇪, Latvia 🇱🇻, and Lithuania 🇱🇹 on synchronizing with the European electricity grid.

Tänasime täna Kliimaministeeriumi kantslerit @KeitKasemets suurepärase töö eest! Hea meel on teatada, et teeme taristuministriga esimesel võimalusel ettepaneku nimetada uueks kantsleriks @martenkokk Kuni uus kantsler meiega liitub, täidab tema kohuseid @kristiklaas

Hea meel, et Kliimaministeeriumi töö kannab vilja. Valitsuse energeetikavisioon annab kindluse, et elekter saab olema kindel, taskukohane ja puhas. Taastuvenergia ja salvestus. Tuumaenergia tulevikuks. Põlevkivijaamad jt juhitavad võimsused tipuhindade alla toomiseks turule.

Puhtale ja soodsamale elektrile ei ole alternatiivi majanduse arengul. Leppisime koalitsiooniliidritega kokku, et korraldame aprillis maismaatuule ja meretuule vähempakkumised. Mõlemad 2 TWh mahus (kokku 4TWh), mis kolmekordistab Eestis tuuleenergia tootmise. Kiirendame ka tuuleenergiatootmiste planeerimisprotsessi. Aprillis otsustame valitsuses toetuse suuremahulise salvestuse tekkeks. Käivitame tuumajaama asukohavaliku arutelu esimese etapi. Tulenevalt Riigikogu otsusest teeme tuumaseaduse, mis lubab 2027 otsustada kas ja kuidas tuumajaam rajada ning seejärel saab otsustada selle asukoha lõplikult. Uued juhitavad võimsused rajame Eleringi hankel ning Eesti Energia investeeringutega, hoides reservis ja valmisolekus ka senised võimsused. Toome turule Kiisa jaama, et see tooks turuhinna madalamaks.

The Baltic States are united 🤝 Today, with 🇱🇻🇱🇹🇵🇱 we discussed final preparations to join the EU electricity system. This is a historic step for our energy security and independence from Russia. We also signed a joint letter to the EU for critical energy infrastructure funding.

It was a great meeting with our Baltic colleagues yesterday 🇱🇻 Minister for Climate and Energy, Kaspars Melnis and 🇱🇹 Minister of Energy, Žygimantas Vaičiūnas. In February, the Baltic States will disconnect from the Russian electricity system and join the Continental European ✅

I was pleased to meet and have a talk with the new 🇪🇺 European Commissioner for Energy and Housing Dan Jørgensen.

Yesterday I participated in the EU Energy Council in Brussels. Main topics were the promotion of geothermal energy and the future of energy policy. 🇪🇪 Estonia stands for energy security and competitiveness, faster uptake of renewable energy and achieving energy independence.
