Sevgili hocam ve dostum Prof. Dr. Ahmet Dervişoğlu’nun vefatını büyük bir üzüntüyle öğrendim. Allah rahmet eylesin. Ahmet Hoca, bizlerin yetişmesinde ve bilim yolundaki çabalarımızda çok büyük emeği olan abide şahsiyetlerden biriydi. Bilhassa son 15 yılda kendisiyle çok yakın görüşme imkânı bulduk; onu çok sevdiği köyündeki evinde ziyaret edip misafiri olduk, çocukluğunu geçirdiği tepelerde ve yollarda birlikte yürüyüp sohbet ettik. Çayhan ablaya ve bütün ailesine Allah sabır versin. Onu daima saygı, özlem ve rahmetle anacağız.
