@andy_cov93 @mdejongofficial Yep, I would pick James as first choice, but if he’s not available then surely Trent has to be next pick.

Every single time I think I’m starting to warm to Tuchel he comes out with something. No Trent, Bellingham can’t get a sniff and after a great display Friday he now says Maguire is behind Chalobah who’s played ONE friendly for England, where our defence got murdered.

🚨 NEW: Thomas Tuchel warns Harry Maguire he's still behind several rivals & may need injuries before he goes to World Cup 🗣️ "I see other players ahead with a different profile" 👇 Full story as Tuchel NAMES those ahead of Man Utd defender dailymail.co.uk/sport/football…

@andy_cov93 @mdejongofficial Tuchel seems his own man to sometimes the point of extremes. Trent and Maguire both don’t make starting 11 but are surely way ahead of some of the others in front of them.

@SebOnFootball Spence is a weird one, 3 spurs managers didn’t want to use Spence, and was only needed due to injuries last season. Porro and Udogie are first choice this season. Spurs have been poor too. Honestly don’t know how spurs second choice full back gets a call up. No offence.

@ADStedman @DavidHindmarsh7 @PremiershipYrs Won same number of leagues as Leicester under Klopp. Points mean absolutely nothing if you ain’t winning the league. Nobody recalls who came second. Unlucky to hit prime Man City but can’t be one of best teams ever with so few trophies.

Jordan Henderson is a painfully limited footballer who's managed to make himself valuable mainly by yelling at much better players than himself, telling them what they should do, often things he can't or doesn't do. Oh and he's a "great lad to have around the place" 👍

@AlbusFerros @skintyromance Bands love tribute bands.. I’ve never once seen a single band who dislikes the idea and concept. They find it humbling. Once again why this isn’t worth an argument.

@leightonread8 @EnglandExtra This is where I am at as well, fair enough when he’s behind prime walker, trippier and James. When those 3 are out there is no way he isn’t better than the others

@EnglandExtra So in a World Cup final you’d have rather have either of Livramento and Spence instead of him?

Apart from his penalty against Switzerland, can anyone tell me what Trent has done in his 34 England caps to warrant such hyperbolic opinion about him missing out? Southgate, Slot, Xabi Alonso and Tuchel have worked with him every day & have all had some level of issue with him
Henry Winter@henrywinter

Still can’t believe that England are going to the World Cup without arguably their best passer. Watching fringe candidates labour at Wembley highlights even more the nonsense of Alexander-Arnold’s omission. He’s a game-changing option from the bench. If you have pace out wide in Gordon/Rashford and Saka/Madueke/Bowen and want to launch a quick counter, TAA can deliver. If England are in a shoutout, he can deliver. Risk/reward. #ENG

Nothing specific on Djed Spence, but in general terms you will never convince me that a full-back should play with the opposing dominant foot to side their on. A left-back should be left footed, a right-back should be right footed.

@DavidHindmarsh7 @ADStedman @PremiershipYrs In the last 20 years we’ve had pep’s Man City, the invincibles, 2 different era’s of fergies Man U, mourinho’s chelsea. Klopp’s team are below all of these. This is just in the last 20 years.

@ADStedman @PremiershipYrs One of the greatest teams in English history is a very very strong reach for a team who won one league title.

@Alex_Niven @AndyClark22 They were definitely a time and place band, and were shambolic live and in the mess a lot of great tunes got forgotten. But their last album was really good and they’re very slick live these days

@AndyClark22 Fair enough. I just struggle to think of any of their tunes that are very memorable/striking, apart from Can’t Stand Me Now (a rule proving exception). This isn’t a criticism of them being derivative/retro, more that they were a vibes/scene proposition rather than a musical one

Always kind of thought the Libertines were the Oasis of the 00s: a band older music heads thought were embarrassing, but if you were the right age you got it. Maybe that’s true, but hard to see that the actual music (bar one or two so-so party tunes) will have any sort of legacy

@PDBertram @brucemillington But if you asked people to pick even englands second choice 11 most of these would be nowhere near it. Feels more like a trial match for those on edge of squad

Given how close we are to the World Cup this selection is completely insane. Has Tuchel actually been watching any football? I wouldn’t start any of these in a meaningful match and wouldn’t have a lot of them in the squad. Tuchel out.

@JordMuckley @matt0768 @TheRockRevival_ I think that’s the point, it’s a lineup for their audience not audience who went in 2000., the headliners are probably the biggest 6 current acts in the uk, especially for those under 25, especially Raye, Dave, Fontaines and Charli.

@andrewhdonohoe @KingGary1234 @conor_brn 100% verve were not shit, they were a very good bands, and prob the bar was a lot higher than some of the landfill indie that came in the 00’s

@andrewhdonohoe @KingGary1234 @conor_brn Everyone has heard of them, and rightly so, but the point I was badly making is in that era blur and oasis were the standout bands, whereas in the libertines brief era they were the standout band

@valeriox025 @FootballEra_ As a Leeds fan I can easily say he’s a Harrods Daniel Farke. All offensive players go backwards, risk free football but great structure especially defensively

@FootballEra_ Fans blamed the players, but Auba and Laca were scoring under Emery and declined under Arteta same with Martinelli. It points to tactics: Arsenal rely on being efficient with limited chances, and that’s not sustainable.

It’s simple, if the Gerd Müller Trophy winner, who scored 100+ goals in two seasons is barely getting shots off in your system but is doing so in every other system, then the problem is you, not him.
