✅ Every line of code in Jolt zkVM in 5 hours Jolt is the simplest codebase I've seen so far, which makes sense if you know the name stands for "Just One Lookup Table". Jolt makes many unique cryptography choices: for example, using Sumcheck (most other zkVMs are stark/fri based), as well as the new Twist and Shout memory checking arguments. Also, Jolt is working on Formal Verification. Because of it's simple codebase, I imagine they'll actually be able to formally verify the entire zkVM in the future. This would be a HUGE accomplishment, as it would mean there are essentially zero bugs in the code. Great work @a16zcrypto team!
