@YounieTyler

Just remember it'll be all ok in the end, and if it's not ok, then it's not the end.

@djcows That would involve them admitting they have been lying for several decades though

i'm somewhat surprised big oil doesn't run the largest EV charging networks given their strong starting position

@SawyerMerritt @jchybow The global average electricity cost is ~$0.14/kwh, not $0.40. Also commercial rates are cheaper. So actual cost is much lower, likely less than a $B

Assuming a $0.40 avg kWh rate across 6.7 billion kWh (6.7TWh) delivered in 2025, that's $2.7B. Reduce cost a little due to margins, potential lower global kWh price average, and you get to $2B. But honestly that's probably way too conservative. If all Supercharging were free, usage would likely skyrocket, increasing Tesla's costs further. That could be offset somewhat by increased vehicle sales, additional milage to train FSD, etc, but the more the fleet would grow, the higher the cost of free Supercharging.

With the cost of gas getting so high, soon it will cost an EV owner less $$$ to fill up their battery pack completely from home, than one gallon of gas.
