@Youppi0@jonmorosi@MLB The Toronto Blue Jays were the first franchise to surpass 4 million in a season, doing it in 1991 at SkyDome with 4,001,430 fans.
They then exceeded that mark again in 1992 and hit their all-time high in 1993 (over 4.05 million).
the Dodgers crossed 4 million in 2007
Day 2 crowds tell you a lot about the attendance and fan support an @MLB team will have during the year. Look at the top rows of Rogers Centre this afternoon. They are packed. 🇨🇦
@jonmorosi@MLB Back in the 90s, Jays were the first franchise to break 4 million in attendance for a season. Coming off last season, the surprise would be seeing empty seats.
@jonmorosi@MLB The way the province of Quebec embraced the Jays last season had added a lot of new fans. Many Quebecers have been reluctant to support the Jays, but not anymore as the Jays are promoting themselves in the French market more & more.
@SteveStuWill Curious why a “world” sample doesn’t also include at least NA - Canada, US, and even Mexico (I think?) have significant number of bands in the best musical genre in the world. Canada’s metal scene (Kick Axe, Helix, Killer Dwarfs, Triumph if you consider it metal) as exemplars.
USA bullpen
- Logan Webb
- Garrett Whitlock
- David Bednar
- Mason Miller
Canada bullpen
- Adam Macko
- a kid from Milton who was in the area on march break
- maple syrup farmer from Quebec
- some guy named tugboat?
It’s incredible Canada was competitive in this game
@EdKrassen@TeamUSA@FlavorFlav Congratulations from a Canadian hockey fan. Good team. Makes a good rivalry better, but one founded on mutual respect is the type that is best. Enjoy.
While Trump belittled the @TeamUSA Women’s Hockey team, let’s all take a minute to congratulate them and thank them for such an amazing ride.
Each and every one of them!
And yeah, thank you @FlavorFlav too!
@LouBrutus Congratulations- enjoy your championship. It’s sports and someone wins and someone loses. Good game. Now if we were to chat on that silly 3 on 3 - not a way a to win or lose. But that’s me. Cheers from Ottawa.
While I’m ecstatic for USA Hockey, anyone who shit talks Canada is a dope. They’ve always been great neighbors and have produced some of the best bands in history. Great actors and comics, too. I’ve traveled it extensively. The land and people are tip top. Thank you, Canada! 🇨🇦
@JVMonte2 Now that I think of it - Wings’ Nineteen Hundred and Eighty Five keyboard opener is pretty solid. As is Piranha Pool by Canada’s very own Blue Rodeo - piano. Deserves a worldwide audience in my view. Great musicians.
If our glorious leader bans Twitter in Britain, I would just like everyone to know that I always really hated the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
All their songs are just gibberish rhymes, here, I made up one now, which would get into any of their albums and nobody would notice.
"Down with the buiscuits, all cos of twixits, we`re going to whisk-it, never going to fix it."
Every-single-song.
@joni_askola Sorry - a bit rusty on specific location of Baffin Bay - Frobisher Bay goes to Iqaluit. Baffin Bay Bay is indeed west of Greenland not east. But to its far northwest, not southwest.
@joni_askola Map is incorrect. Baffin Bay is west of Greenland it ends at Iqaluit on Baffin Island. Davis Strait separates it with Greenland if more regional littoral detail is sought for the purposes of this juxtaposition.
