On 19 April 2022, Manchester United travelled to face Liverpool, managed by Jürgen Klopp.
In the 4th minute, Luis Díaz opened the scoring, but what followed meant far more than the game itself.
In the 7th minute, the entire stadium stood and applauded. Klopp joined in, and some Liverpool fans even held up the No.7 shirt of Cristiano Ronaldo.
The day before, Ronaldo had shared that one of the twins he and Georgina were expecting had passed away.
So, for that moment, rivals were put aside. The whole ground came together, applauding through the 7th minute as “You’ll Never Walk Alone” rang around Anfield.
And some say it’s just football.
Emerson: Chelsea left a scar on my heart
Emerson recalled how he won European titles with Chelsea, reports Abola.
“I was probably born to win all the best European titles. I am very happy that one day Conte's assistant called me and told me that Antonio wanted to talk to me. Already in the evening I was thinking about Chelsea, and the next day he didn’t call me, because people from the club came to me, and then they took out the MacBook on which Conte called. It was an interesting conversation and I quickly agreed, but the clubs took a long time to decide on my transfer value, I was very worried that in the end the deal would not happen, but I moved to Chelsea, where I won a lot of titles. “Unfortunately, I was not able to fully develop in London, it was all due to injury, but I am always grateful to this club, which left a scar on my heart, because I loved it very much,” said Emerson.
