Peter G. Obi is moving on. Peter, you've let yourself down. Do you really believe that deceiving us will bring you to Aso Rock? You may have found some success in 2023, but over time, people have seen through your facade. You put on an act in public, carrying bags for others while negatively commenting about your wife—suggesting you wouldn't mind if she were unfaithful. My friend, it's time to face reality; your political career is over. Focus on finding a new partner and managing your finances. Becoming the president of Nigeria is simply not in your future. Best of luck. @PeterObi @ADCVanguard_ @OfficialPDPNig @NgLabour @APGA Vote president @officialABAT come 2027.

Shutting down a city of 20 million people to clean their immediate environment is parochial and lacks imagination. For emphasis: the issue is not so much about cleaning your environment (which is great) but the logistics of waste management - starting from the collection, to disposal and recycling. Anything short of rethinking this system is cosmetic and unimaginative.
Tokunbo Wahab@tokunbo_wahab

Tomorrow morning between 6:30am and 8:30am, we begin a new chapter in our collective journey toward a cleaner Lagos. The monthly environmental sanitation exercise returns, and I am calling on every resident to come out and participate actively. Let me address the confusion some have tried to create. No court pronouncement has invalidated this exercise. The State proceeded to the Court of Appeal, and judgment was delivered in our favour. The Court affirmed that the laws used for the implementation and enforcement of environmental sanitation are legitimate and constitutional. So disregard those who choose to mislead the public. We have planned this for over a year. We have thought it through. We cannot keep complaining about dirty surroundings and blaming government while shirking our own responsibilities. The care of our environment is a collaborative project between government and citizens. Major transport unions controlling about 90% of vehicles on our roads have pledged not to deploy their vehicles from major parks during the sanitation window. If government vehicles are staying put, what will it cost us to stay home for just two hours to clean our environment? We are not unreasonable. Exceptions exist for emergencies, scheduled flights, and students writing JAMB exams. LAWMA has been fully mobilized to evacuate waste generated. Environmental health officers will monitor properties, and defaulters will be served abatement notices. Tomorrow, let us show Lagos and the world that we are ready to take ownership of our environment. Two hours. One Saturday each month. A cleaner, healthier, flood-free Lagos for all of us. #LagosSanitationExercise #CleanerLagos

Nigerian students don’t need loans to go to school. If politicians like decadent @officialabat and criminals parading themselves as state governors, Senators, House of Reps members, and local government chairpersons won’t borrow for their own healthcare and lifestyles, why should students? @NELFUND is a trap, not a solution. #AACOURPARTY #RevolutionNow

Let me give you how governments loan works . Most times we take the word loan out of contest . Would you prefer constructing your house in 3 months yes. But you don’t have the full amount. But u can get loan upfront to continue it at the paste you want .instead of waiting for ur income at the end of the month . When ur incomes come in you pay ur loaner.

This Tinubu Government has borrowed too much loan. As of March 31, in under 6 hours, Akpabio read and approved $6billion loan for Tinubu, and now, Tinubu yet wants to borrow an additional $516million. It does not make any sense. In May 2023, Tinubu said removing fuel subsidy will save money for us, as a nation, but that is not what is playing out as 3 years down the line, the same Tinubu has gone on to borrow more money than we were borrowing during fuel subsidy era. They said the Governors now receive more revenue but I don't see the impact on the ground. What I expect is that the President will call these Governors and say "let's save some of these monies". The people of the various regions will then decide what their regions should do with the funds saved by their Governors. It could be security or education or health, but we need to see what our Governors do with the funds. For instance, I expect that it is the transport sector that will benefit the most in the money supposedly saved from removal of fuel subsidy. Ordinarily, we shall have CNG buses all over the place now but we don't have those amenities. Even the CNG charging stations, sometimes they don't even have gas in them. So, in essence, as a nation we don't see where and how the money saved from fuel subsidy removal is being spent. We just continue to collect loans that will overburden our future generations yet unborn.

Do you know that Peter Obi has spent more on education this year than the Education ministry has?
Peter Obi@PeterObi

Nigeria Must Prioritise Education or Risk Falling Further Behind. Yesterday, at Coal City University Enugu I delivered a lecture on 'Repositioning Nigeria’s education sector for national growth and global competitiveness' I also seized the opportunity to commend the Vice-Chancellor and the entire management of the University for their commitment to academic excellence and for providing a platform for meaningful national discourse. No nation rises above the quality of its education system. Nigeria’s current low Human Development Index (HDI) score of 0.548 and persistent high unemployment are clear symptoms of chronic underinvestment in education and human capital development. The data is equally revealing. Nigeria allocates less than 10% of its budget to education, far below the 15–20% global benchmark. Youth unemployment and underemployment exceed 30%, while life expectancy remains among the lowest 50–55 years. Literacy levels hover below average 59% and 65%, all of which point to deep structural weaknesses in our development trajectory. In contrast, comparable countries such as Indonesia and Egypt, and South Africa have high HDI levels with HDI scores of 0.72–0.75. They all have higher life expectancy of above 65 years, higher literacy levels and higher per capita incomes of $3,500 above, while Nigeria is about $1000. This stronger progress was through sustained and deliberate investment in education, healthcare, and broader human capital development. The difference is not in talent, but in priority and policy consistency. We must move beyond rhetoric and confront these realities with urgency. I therefore called for a total review of Nigeria’s education funding model, stronger public-private partnerships, and more inclusive policies that recognise the role of both public and private institutions in educating Nigerian students. It is difficult to justify excluding private universities from intervention frameworks like TETFund when they are actively contributing to national capacity building. Education is not charity; it is the foundation of national growth and the gateway to global competitiveness. With sustained investment in education and a deliberate focus on human capital development, a new Nigeria is not only POssible - it is inevitable. -PO

NELFUND started in 2024. It takes 5 years to get a B.Tech. This boy graduated in 2026. So who paid his school fees in 2021, 2022 and 2023? The moment I saw his tweet, I knew it was a political PR. How can a sane child finish school and not be grateful to his parents who paid his school fees for 3 years but be grateful to the man who made school unaffordable for him and gave him loan to pay the unaffordable fees?
OLADEPO Caleb Olugbenga@YhungProf0

I’ll be live on this X Space to share the role NELFUND played in my academic journey. Join us as we discuss access, discipline, and academic excellence. 🗓️ Friday, April 24, 2026 | ⏰ 3PM WAT Hosted by @PBATMediaCentre
