@L6_Underground Yeah I broke a couple drill bits and ruined a barrel before I realized they were not in fact my cobalt bits 🤣🤣

Let me clarify, you can absolutely drill and nitride barrel and we do it all the time. HOWEVER, the average DIY'er is extremely likely to break drill bits in the barrel and get them stuck, so we recommend against it unless you have the proper equipment. We've had to EDM out several broken drill bits from people who have broken bits in nitride barrels.

@L6_Underground @Z3Productions_ Personally, I wouldn’t do it without at least a drill press, cobalt bits (preferably carbide), and plenty of cutting oil.

@Z3Productions_ It’s easier to just tell people something won’t work than to have a bunch of dingdongs whining that they keep breaking off drill bits and ruining their barrel cus they’re using shitty drill bits and a Ryobi drill.

@3DArms Yeah dimpling it was easy peasy, broke three drill bits drilling the gas port though.

@Z3Productions_ I was confused when I read that as well, never posed a problem when I've dimpled them.
