STATE COMPTROLLER OF IMMIGRATION COMMENDS NYSC ON CAMPAIGN AGAINST ILLEGAL MIGRATION. The Comptroller, Nigeria Immigration Service, Bàuchi State Command, Mr. A U Abuabkar has commended the NYSC for her sustained campaign against illegal migration among youths in Bàuchi state through the NYSC Pan African Institute for Global Affairs(PAIGAS) CDS group. The Comptroller gave the commendation today when the state Coordinator, NYSC Bauchi state, Mr. Kufre Umoren paid a courtesy visit to him in his office at the Federal Secretariat Complex, Bàuchi. The Comptroller lauded the members of the PAIGAS CDS group for making the work of the Nigeria Immigration Service in the state easy because of the intensive campaign among their peers, which he said has yielded tremendous positive results. He described illegal migration as a suicide mission which must be discouraged at all cost to save lives and avoid people being coerced into modern slavery. He assured the Coordinator that his office is open for any meaningful collaboration with the NYSC for the development of the nation. Earlier, the state Coordinator told the Comptroller that he was in his office to formally introduce himself and his management team to him and to appreciate the Command for consistently sending officers to lecture corps members on issues of migration during orientation courses in the state. Mr Umoren noted that the relationship between the two agencies has remained very cordial over the years and therefore called for the strengthening of the relationship and to explore other areas of possible collaboration. The Coordinator thanked the Comptroller for supporting the NYSC PAIGAS CDS group and prayed the collaboration continued to yield good results.
