@KyleClark Go fuck yourself. That refinery is people’s livelihood, and you need it more than you know.

@ArielEpstein @jaredrblock I’ve found that team strikeout total props may have better value than individual pitcher totals. Am I on to something?

Sad news. His famous words will be said at the end of every win until the day I die.

The Yankees mourn the loss of legendary broadcaster John Sterling. Our thoughts are with John’s family, friends and loved ones at this time.

NAME THAT YANK!
This legendary NY LHP was and pitched to a 1.47 ERA with 110 IP in a year where he registered 3rd in CY. Playing for the Yankees at age 46 he was really struggling in his final year where he played for 3 teams for all of which he didn’t do well. 15 games as a Yank. This man was a 2x AS, 2x WS champ and hold the current all time record for most games. Often forgotten he was a Yankee at all, many fans are disgusted by the idea of him in a Yankee uniform.

NAME THAT YANK!
In his entire career, this man made the playoffs only once, in which he was completely dominant despite it being a losing effort. In a 14 year career entirely as a Yank, this man led the league in H’s 2x, 2B’s 3x consecutively, RBI’s 1x & won himself won Batting Title though he was close to losing it to another Yank that year & almost won another. The 1x MVP won 9 Gold Gloves & 3 SS awards.

NAME THAT YANK!
In a 15 year career, this man played 37 games as a Yank. He is a 6x AS, 1x WS champ, led the league in 2B 2x, and RBIs 1x. He was traded for a player who would go on to have over 50 saves in a season. He played for four different clubs. A productive tenure in the Bronx wasn’t in the cards.

NAME THAT YANK!
A pretty good walker, he had a career .338 OBP across 13 years in the majors. With 149 career HRs, this switch hitting infielder spent the majority of his career with PIT. He has a funny story where he would not be born had his father gotten in the ill fated plane that took the life of Roberto Clemente just a few years before this player was born. His father was teammates either Clemente.

@NamethatYank This might be the most obscure player you’ve ever done. Fernando Seguignol.

NAME THAT YANK!
In a 5 year career, he last played for the Yanks in ‘03, where he appeared in only 5 games. A Panama native, this 6’5” 250+ lb switch hitter hit less than 20 career homers. He is considered one of the greatest switch hitters to ever play in Japan where he hit 172 bombs. He was once traded by the Yankees at a young age to MON for a closer who won a WS against the Braves as a Yank.

NAME THAT YANK!
Born in NYC, in his 19 year career he was a Yankee for only 1 playing in 130 games. This 1x AS came up in a huge pinch hit situation where he was put in for an aging A-Rod, hitting homers in two consecutive at bats, the latter being a walk off in the 12th. He became the 1st player to hit two HRs in a post season game he did not start, the 1st to hit 2 HRs in the 9th inning or later in a post season game & the oldest to hit a post season walk off HR. He would later in the playoffs hit another HR becoming the 1st to hit 3 or more post season HRs in the 9th inn or later.

NAME THAT YANK!
This slugger from the Dominican Republic, best known for his unique jog around the bases following homers, spent a half a season in New York during his great 16 year career. Playing for 6 teams, this 3x AS has over 400 HRs, and traded for a player known to Rake!

I’m thinking about a random #mlb player who had a monster postseason moment. You’ll never guess the guy.

@menscoach1 8. Women who grew up in split households. They’ll think divorce is an acceptable alternative when things get rough.

NAME THAT YANK!
This legend played for 20+ years where he hit to an OPS of .900 or more 12x! A Yankee for 3 years he belted over 70 HRs for us. The 9x AS, 5x Silver Slugger & Batting title recipient ranked top 9 in MVP 6x. Despite hitting over 500 HRs, he never led the league in homers. His unique stance was something every kid replicated.

THEME QUESTION!: Chris Chambliss, Chris Gittens, Chris Carter, Cecil Fielder & today’s Friday featured player all have many things in common, but I am looking for a specific theme that connects them all. This is a part of the year where I like to highlight some Yankee greats.
English

@NamethatYank Cecil Fielder. I saw his first game as a Yankee after the trade deadline.

NAME THAT YANK!
This man nicknamed “big daddy”, he was a Yank for 2 years & is one of three players who retired with the same exact number of career home runs! He posted a 10.4 WAR season which should have gotten him an MVP, hitting 51 HRs & 132 RBIs, but he placed second behind a 9.9 WAR player who snagged 65 bags. The 3x AS & 2x Silver Slugger produced an awesome athlete. Making old Yankee stadium look small, this slugger is one of 3 players with exactly 319 career HRs.
