The shocking "child sex attack crisis" in Scotland's hospitals has been exposed, with new figures revealing three girls under 16 allegedly sexually assaulted in the last 12 months alone, one under 13 at Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock, and two aged 13-15 at Stobhill Hospital in Glasgow (one on a ward). Broader FOI data from July 2024 to July 2025 shows 138 alleged sex offences in hospitals reported to Police Scotland, including 5 rapes, 57 sexual assaults, indecent exposures, coercion, and more, over half in psychiatric facilities, with many on wards. Campaigners say this is just the tip of the iceberg, as not all hospitals routinely report or record these properly. This comes amid overall sexual crimes soaring 10% in the year ending December 2025 (to 16,029), with rape and attempted rape up 12%, and child abuse image offences hitting record levels.
