@SBMadeitX I understand that some people see it as a numbers game. Bigger stats can look appealing for brand deals and sponsorships. However, “fake it till you make it” shouldn’t be the standard. Integrity should still matter!!!! 👏

@SBMadeitX I’m someone who partnered the right way, without bots, so I honestly find it disgusting. Numbers have never been my focus, but come on, people need to wake up. It’s not hard to spot someone using viewbots, and it’s frustrating to see it becoming normal. 😑

Kick, so many streamers have voiced their issues with the botting and frankly let's keep this one a buck, yall are not doing anything about it. Personally make a example of a better and sue them for fraud, and theft as they technically are streaming from you, and 2. For all verified streamers instead of this engagement per pay, form a team that actively interviews each of these streamers that hit this metric, followed by a in dept analysis of their active feed, then present a hourly pay. 1. You'll weed out the botters VERY quickly 2. Ask anyone who sees that's that DOES not bot and most i think can get behind this plan. - It will provide a concrete strategy to reward legit streamers and punish the shams.

Twitch, why do you want your streamers to suffer so much with these updates? I’m so tired of being disappointed. To circle back to the update from a few months ago, this takes away from lurkers and viewers even more. As someone working so hard to grow despite all these new platform updates, again, I feel like I’m going backwards. Stop punishing our lurkers!

Twitch appears to be running non-ad interstitials when the stream is minimized or muted, replacing the ad break that would otherwise appear.

Small Creators that are doing something you aren’t having fun/comfortable with to keep those couple of viewers happy, STOP. I promise you it’s not worth it, you’ll get more and more people that will adapt to how those viewers are and the community you have will be one you never wanted. Then you’ll be burnt out or just not enjoying it anymore. Be yourself, it’ll go a long way, and then when you get viewers that like you for YOU, it’ll make you enjoy content creating that much more!

I don't care how much backlash I'm going to get for saying this, but I'm gonna say it. Viewbotting is wrong and you shouldn't do it.

Ive had people post a screenshot of my 50ccv average and say "dis you?" when I give advice about streaming or content creation. Yeah, my live has crashed every stream for 1.5 years. I also am not full-time and cancel often, whats your point? Also 50 PEOPLE IS STILL A LOT??? I made affiliate in 7 days, partner in 2 years, hosted 5 twitchcon panels, work with twitch, 30+ sponsorships, and have over 40k combined follows. Im not saying I know everything, I just have 5 years of experience that could help people so why wouldn't I try and help? Some y'all are mean 🤣

"We can tell when you only pop in to say hello then dip" okay? Some people seriously don't have a lot of time to watch ALL streamers for HOURS. I love supporting my friends and saying hi but we all are extremely busy. It doesn't mean we are saying hi for clout or a shoutout.

Stop being so considerate in situations where you are not even considered. Kindness is a gift, not an obligation. You will be drained if you keep pouring into people who don’t reciprocate. Your kindness is a strength, but when it comes at the expense of your own well-being, boundaries, or self-respect, it becomes self-abandonment. Protect your spirit and well-being. Redirect your warmth toward those who reflect it back to you.

"Don't Worry About Numbers" Starting out streaming, I used to hear this A LOT. One thing I never saw though was HOW to stop worrying about the numbers. So, as someone who is often my own harshest critic, here are some honest things I've learned. & No I won't be telling you to hide your viewers number. 1. Celebrate Your Accomplishments Did your averages for this month go up? Celebrate! Did you hit affiliate? Celebrate! Did you meet a new chatter who came back next stream? Hell yea! No matter how big or small, find joy in your accomplishments. Make a little graphic celebrating 100 followers. Not at a milestone? Celebrate 670, 420, 123. It doesn't always have to be a twitter post, make a post in your discord to your community that something small made you happy! 2. Use Your Number Fixation to your Advantage Find yourself constantly checking that number on Twitch? It happens, I know. Did the number go up? New viewer hop in? Pose a question to chat, become a little more talkative, give your hot take on a popular candy. Don't get an immediate answer to your question? Answer it yourself, give your take. Get an answer? Engage with it, keep it rolling. Make the fixation work for you not against you! 3. Play/Talk with Friends Struggling with the numbers? Bring a friend or two to help chat and keep things light and fun. I will add one note of caution that it's important to remember you're streaming and to try to be an entertainer instead of just a hangout session. Friends can help bring out a lighter more upbeat side of you and help you forget about the numbers. 4. Envy is a Trap It's impossible to notice when another creator around you gets a growth spurt, or someone who started yesterday blows up when you've been grinding for months or years. So when you feel a pang of jealousy or you start comparing or feeling bad about your own journey, take a breath. Go congratulate the person on their success, give them a like on a post. I know this sounds crazy, but letting yourself participate and be happy for someone else's success is an indispensable thing to learn in this space. I think most people would recommend removing yourself but I don't think that fixes things and it's better to confront your feelings than wallow in them. 5. Compare Honestly Comparing yourself to others in this space sucks sometimes but I think everyone at some point does it so I'm not going to tell you not to (though you should avoid it). It's okay to be frank with yourself if you want to grow faster, if you think you need to upload more frequently, but be gentle with yourself. Some people have accounts created 2 months ago but they've been at this for years and just rebranded. Some people started last week but know a lot of other big creators. Comparing yourself to others just based off numbers leaves A LOT out of the picture and that really matters. 6. Have Fun This might be the most obvious bit of advice but you are at your best when you're having a good time. Don't want to play that new popular game? Don't play it. You're better off being happy because that is when you shine as a creator. Don't feel peer pressured to do whatever is trendy/popular. A great way to district yourself from numbers is to have a genuinely good time. Rave about an anime you absolutely love, play your favorite game that gets you immersed, bring some friends for friendslop. Make it fun and the numbers tend to fade into the background.

My therapist told me: “When a person grows up feeling unseen, they learn to love by over-giving. They pour into everyone else, hoping that, one day, someone will finally pour back into them. So they become the care taker. The fixer. The one who shows up, even when no one shows up for them.” And the hardest part? Deep down, they're not trying to be strong. They're just waiting for someone to do for them what they've spent their whole life doing for everyone else.
