This is putting the driver at a risk of being arrested Mistakes: 1. Car is driving off track which calls for fine of 100 dollars per person in a car 2. He is standing outside which puts his life at a risk incase a lion attacks from behind 3. The car is small and supposed to enter the park unless its a 4x4 safari car on any of the track clients are likely to sleep there put life to risk To mention but a few @MTWAUganda and @ugwildlife should set strict rules ans new standards on how and what should access the park For God and my country

Today at Nakasero, I met Mr. Aliko Dangote and we discussed the proposed East African regional refinery. I informed him that from the very beginning, we have always opposed the export of raw materials without value addition. That is why Uganda delayed oil production because we insisted on first having a refinery. Without refining our oil, it would not make economic or strategic sense to simply export crude oil while others benefit from the finished products. I, therefore, welcomed the idea of a bigger regional refinery because our objective is African integration and shared prosperity. We cannot continue operating as fragmented and weak markets. If East Africa works together, such projects become more viable and beneficial to our people. Uganda is ready to support the regional refinery initiative while also continuing with the development of our own refinery in Hoima.

I was glad to launch the 10th Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo at Munyonyo today. Uganda remains one of the most unique tourism destinations because of our favourable climate, rich culture, peace and natural beauty. Regarding Ebola, there is no cause for alarm. We are applying targeted measures and continuing to work scientifically to keep people safe while keeping our economy open. As our economy grows towards upper-middle-income status, we shall also improve the tourism experience, including friendlier visa arrangements to attract more visitors. I therefore welcome the world to come and explore Uganda, the Pearl of Africa.

Lions That Sleep in Trees In a region of Uganda, lions have developed the unusual habit of climbing trees to rest and sleep. Scientists believe they do this to escape the heat, avoid biting insects, and observe their surroundings from above It's one of the rarest and most fascinating behaviors ever seen in wild lions - and an unforgettable sight in nature 🦁🥺

Elephants are among the most intelligent animals on earth. They mourn their dead, remember migration routes and water sources for years, and fiercely protect vulnerable members of their herd. They communicate through touch, body language, powerful vocalizations, and low-frequency rumbles that can travel several kilometres, helping herds stay connected over long distances. Elephant families are led by experienced matriarchs whose memory and leadership are critical for the survival of the herd. In the wild, intelligence is not only about survival. It is also about memory, communication, leadership, and family. Uganda’s elephants are mainly found in Murchison Falls National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Kidepo Valley National Park, Kibale National Park, Semuliki National Park, Mount Elgon Conservation Area, and parts of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

During a routine patrol in Bugoma Central Forest Reserve, @ugwildlife rangers arrested a suspect found transporting illegally produced charcoal on a motorcycle. Rangers also destroyed additional sacks of charcoal and dismantled an active charcoal burning site discovered deep inside the forest reserve. UWA continues to intensify patrols and enforcement operations against illegal activities threatening Bugoma’s ecosystem and biodiversity.
