@tunguz And I predict data centers will be 1/100th to a 1/1000th of the size they are now. If AGI is so good, it must be able to come up with a solution to make data centers more efficient and down sizable.

My prediction: in 5-10 years areas of the US that are the most opposed to the datacenter buildup will be the core of the next rust belt.

The constant background hum of yield curve control and QE advocacy comes from people who don't seem to have a sound framework for what would get us to that point in the first place. It would not just be the long end breaking an old high or interest expense being larger than Social Security. There would need to be a large scale kinetic war, or a sovereign crisis of epic scale that either precipitated an order of magnitude increase in fiscal spending, or a tsunami of capital outflows from US assets that could not be stemmed. Neither of those things are happening on any horizon we can see. QE is not coming back on any foreseeable timeline. Central bankers spent the past 3yrs lambasting it as failed policy which did not drive growth. It's a choice that only exists at the zero lower bound. That is a rare level which won't be seen again barring a depression event.
