@ZP33T

Your typical Ohio coaster enthusiast. Cedar Point is the greatest amusement park in the world, full stop. Just don't confuse amusement with theme.

@Coaster_Fiend Free at home with clippers & my wife. If I'm feeling froggy, I'll use a coupon at Great Clips for ~$10 + tip.

@ZippinPackers Eating clean w/ intermittent fasting is all it took for me, and I feel fuckin great now. Cutting the processed bullshit, and consuming all of your calories within a 10 hour or less period of the day is literally all that it takes.

I’m so sick of seeing: “Bro all you gotta do for 3 months to lose 90 lbs is get like 19 hrs of sunlight, 50,000 steps, eat 3 lbs of cauliflower, flush your body w cat pee, and stop talking to your wife because she holds you back. Lock in.” And it’s just some dude on steroids 😂

I actually forgot that the new X2 train suffered a “malfunction” already and it hasn’t been a week! Good times @JTOKI_12 looking forward to some Hollywood Drift night rides! 🤘🏼
Josh@JTOKI_12

great, easy night at SFMM where basically everything was a walk-on except X2. X2 only on one train, the new #3 was taken off because of a “malfunction.” got a bunch of stuff down before meeting up with the 🐐@Coaster_Fiend where we got a ton done. kind of shocked how dead it was!

@bobbysabi Canada problems there.. They had to have the supports manufactured by a Canadian fabricator rather than Intermountain lift, who normally manufacturers both the track and supports for Premier Rides coasters. That's why CW doesn't have an RMC.

@ZP33T Alpen Fury had the same issue on several track pieces, but, "Intamin bad" or whatever.

@TomTomTwister Just look at it, lmao. I tried to be nice with my reply, but damn man.. Count the bolt holes, even. The support clearly has a larger diameter flange with more bolt holes. Doesn't take an engineer to figure this one out.

@ZP33T Ok, lol. Care to elaborate? We’re not engineers on the project we’re all just guessing here.

@AdventureDriven It can (and likely will) be done in a single overnight session by a crew of 2 welders in a bucket lift.

@ZP33T Legit question here how hard of a fix is something like this? Time wise

@ZP33T I’d guess this is within spec, steel expands quite a bit in the heat.

@THE_G3S The fix is absolutely to cut the flange off of the track piece, then weld on the correct one. As a diesel tech, I've worked side by side with experienced welders in the oil & gas industry.. this is a relatively straight-forward job one of their kind.

@ZP33T That’s gonna be an expensive mistake. Correct me if I’m wrong but even adding an adapter between the two would alter the overall physics of the ride which may result in short or long term damage?

@ATLSloan Which is exactly why I feel like it was an engineering oversight on Intamin's part. The fabricator/welder at Stakotra would've been carefully following the very specific plans provided to them by Intamin.

@ZP33T It’s hard to tell, but if that larger flange is used on other track sections, welder could have just grabbed the wrong flange Which is still an incredible screw up when almost every track and support weldment is unique

@ATLSloan Yup. My only question is.. was it an oversight on Intamin's part? (Likely, imo) Or.. Did Stakotra accidently weld on the incorrect size flange?

@ClayPRC It's a chain that is holding the track piece to the support piece.. the portion of chain hanging down is excess chain. Notice, the flange on the track piece is smaller than the flange on the support. I'd say it's either a manufacturer design oversight or fabricator mistake.
