and I’m not happy with the team for giving him reasons to leave,
But the way he made it seem so easy to leave has made it much easier for me to get over his departure than I thought it would be, regardless of the reasons.

I can’t imagine the Packers get a fourth from anyone else if Cowboys bail on the Gary trade to be able to get Crosby. Teams in a bad spot with this.

To see Evans take a deal for $14 million a year from the 49ers - 60 cents on the dollar from his last Bucs contract, before incentives - makes me think he wanted out and Tampa Bay wasn't going to be able to re-sign him. They could match or exceed that without any heavy lifting.

@gregauman Fair point Greg but I wouldnt push it off the radar. The fans' displeasure in Bowels coaching &management, Licht's recent questionable (or lack of) moves, is prob not too far of Evans perspective, as he was a fan of the team too. Ultimately Glazers need to look in the mirror.

We won't ever know this, but Bucs could have fired Bowles and/or Licht and Evans might still see a need to make a change, seeing how much is new and unknown around him in Tampa.

I would think you can build a lot of not-likely-to-be-earned incentives into Evans' contract that he can hit easily if he's healthy in 2026 (40 catches, 400 yards, 4 TDs) for short-term cap help. Still wildly low.
