Halls of residence such as Lumbox and Mary Stuart Hall have been fully renovated, with others still under consideration for refurbishment . UPE facilitation has been increased to UGX 50,000 per child to keep learners in school, while teachers’ salaries have risen by 100% a major boost to welfare in the sector. A visit to Makerere University shows the ongoing transformation. Over 250 government secondary schools (seed schools) have been constructed across the country in the last five years, expanding access to education at the grassroots. Additional progress includes expansion of technical institutions under Uganda Technical Colleges and curriculum reforms by the National Curriculum Development Centre. More public universities are coming up, including Busoga University, Muni University, and Bunyoro University. Let’s continue to encourage investment in education for a stronger Uganda .
