How can they continue to claim this new med can't cause addiction, when they excluded anyone with any history of misuse, addiction, positive drug test, etc? Can you imagine if they did that for Rx Opioids now? They'd be screaming about how the studies were fixed.

If a government is allowed to eliminate a particular segment of our population such as chronic pain patients with denial of effective control of chronic, severe pain which is deadly if not controlled then what prevents them from targeting another group such as anyone over 65? Actually the over 65 group has a weapon which politicians do not like to challenge. It is called the ‘vote’, but other groups need to beware. Turn your backs on pain patients now, and we won’t be able to help you when you become the target.

New low. @Humana is refusing to approve necessary surgery for my patients. Impossible to get through with the denying doctor w long phone waits & no call backs. When I asked for doctor’s medical license number or NPI, they refuse and just give me the name “Dr. Johnson.” Pathetic.

I’m sorry I haven’t checked in. I am being subjected to the most heinous abusive disability discrimination. I did not lose my doctor or pharmacist. The property manager of my complex is retaliating against me for complaining about the construction dust and other horrible actions that she caused in a apartment complex owned by @CushWake She slipped a non-renewal note in my door late Monday night which is essentially eviction by a different name. It’s FELONY MANSLAUGHTER to refuse lease renewal to a person who cannot metabolize sunlight because they made justifiable complaints. I pay my rent, I’m quiet and do not have pets or children. There is no possible way I can physically find a new apartment (I called everywhere I can afford and there none available right now). I am physically disabled, I don’t know how to drive and cannot metabolize sunlight. The terror I feel because of one bully abusing her limited power is not a hypothetical scenario. I barely survived #HypercalcemicCrisis secondary to #Sarcoidosis (twice). My enzyme 1-alpha hydrolase is defective and turns all inactive forms of vitamin D into an active form. Sunlight exposure is the equivalent to drinking gallons of milk. I have Pulmonary Fibrosis from the last time I had #HypercalcemicCrisis emergency. All I did was complain for her refusing preventative measures to protect my irreversibly damaged lungs from construction dust and paint fumes. #HypercalcemicCrisis is so fatal (mortality is 85%) and extremely rare with pain and suffering is not of this world. It is so expensive to keep me alive during these highly fatal emergency. The way the medical system is now I stand no chance of surviving it again. The #PDMP has ensured I will be neglected and treated like a drug addict. She enjoyed making me humiliate myself begging for my life. When she was asked if she was comfortable evicting a disabled person with a serious disease she said “yes absolutely”. Her barbarism is not normal behavior and even though the rest of society has normalize abusing disabled people I am not going to normalize her condemning a person with an horrific orphan disease to a certain death for no justifiable reason. I need to make it clear that I always pay my rent and it’s not cheap considering how abusive management is to me. She has discriminated against me in the past. She hangs up on me claiming I’m yelling even though I repeatedly tell her I’m not yelling but can’t control the volume of my voice when I am stressed. (I only call her when she does something to cause me to be stressed) . Half my face was paralyzed from #Neurosarcoidosis for nearly a year. My cranial nerves are permanently damaged and I struggle to control the volume of my voice and pronounce words. I’m not asking for money. I just want to continue paying for life-saving shelter for one more year while I safely look for disability friendly complex now that I’m about to turn 55. I need to find a complex that is close enough to my doctor and pharmacist. I spent all week making calls begging for help, sent on time-wasting leads. Lawyers want hundreds of dollars just for a consultation. I can’t afford to keep throw steep consulting fees to lawyers who will not take my case. I’ve been fighting for so long that I don’t have the strength to keep fighting. I’m so sorry to the community I will not be around to help anymore unless someone intervenes. I have never been this terrified in my entire life and that’s saying a lot. I have been crying nonstop (very unusual for me). My heart is constantly pounding, blood pressure through the roof from the stress. I deserve better after all that I have endured from my horrific disease that I inherited from my father. Add civil rights violation on top of felony manslaughter.

“Integrating people with lived experience” is a tool often wielded by the Prohibitionist to amplify the voices of abstinence to push anti-drug rhetoric. Harm reduction must be lead by LIVING experience to amplify the voice, rights and humanity of people who use drugs.

#chronicpain CDC counts every drug as a death by that drug. 95% of overdose deaths are multi drug. If there are five drugs each will be listed as a cause for death. If there is ONE oxycodone tablet then it becomes a prescription drug INVOLVED death and is counted in the 100,000

my kid is obsessed with the construction happening on our block and wouldn’t go inside to get out of his pajamas because he was too enthralled, so one of the workers said “you need to go inside and get dressed so you can help us, it’s not safe to wear your pajamas to work”

@CMerandi Disgusting 🤮! But we are the bad guys! As sick as we are too! I’m in cluster headaches hell, CRPS hell, deg disc disease hell and we are being bullied at every Dr visit! I hope they tell their patients about tooth crumble too!! SMH 🤦‍♀️
