@shiboo3008 @instagram Anyone can send a password request to your account at any time. It doesn't actually do anything. The issue here is a 2022 email dump leaked publicly online so a bunch of scripters were spamming all the emails/usernames with requests looking for accounts with uncreated emails

We fixed an issue that let an external party request password reset emails for some people. There was no breach of our systems and your Instagram accounts are secure. You can ignore those emails — sorry for any confusion.

@instagram I've been getting 10+ password reset emails every single day for years. It's not a big deal, idk why you guys are freaking out about it. People can request resets via email, username and using account ID. Not a big deal, people just started using new public email lists.
