@LIVEpositivity Your problems grow to fit your perception. If you believe you're overwhelmed and can't manage, you won't be able to. Believe you can handle it, and you will. You've survived every problem in your life so far, give yourself some credit.

Often we fail not due to lack of ability, but because of lack of patience. If you expect to see results in certain time frames but don't make it in time you'll assume you weren't good enough & give up. Make your goals a practice to maintain and you can't fail due to time.

@markmanson The way to find a good partner is to be good to yourself first. If you can accept yourself fully you'll act genuinely with everyone else, and someone who fits with that will naturally be attracted to you. Love yourself first!

We make most of our choices trying to anticipate avoidance of pain/rejection/failure. This leaves us paralyzed and unacting. It's better to take action and learn from a mistake than to never give yourself the opportunity to learn in the first place. Jump in. The water's fine.

When we choose a partner, we are unknowingly making the most important choice of our lives, as it dictates and heavily influences almost every other area of our life. Make sure you are choosing well.

Taking steps in any direction is better than taking no steps at all. Where you are in life right now is the result of the steps you took in the past, it's the result of lessons you've already learned. The only way to grow now is to take new steps forward and learn again.

You might as well speak your mind, it'll act up and speak for itself if you don't.

Struggling with something is the natural process of allowing your brain to begin forming new pathways Learning is literally a physical process called neuroplasticity, but if you don't put your brain under pressure to change it will never learn to get better at what you're doing

Productivity is just as much a result of the ways you choose NOT to work as it is working hard. If you never rest, you never recover. If you never recover you are operating at less than 100% power all the time. Rest intentionally in everything you do.

Improvement at anything is based on thousands of tiny failures, and the magnitude of your success is based on how many times you've failed at something.

Self Mastery has nothing to do with eliminating your particular negative or undesirable behaviors. Self Mastery is about learning what those less desirable parts of yourself are, accepting them, and learning to continue moving forward despite their presence.

@wiseconnector 1. Personal responsibility - placing responsibility on children lets them push themselves and provides teaching opportunities when they make mistakes. 2. Self acceptance - when children are challenged they build character, which turns into confidence. Let them fail, & teach them

Don't let a lapse turn into a relapse. Don't let one bad day turn into a bad life. When you inevitably have a bad day or miss a habit don't beat yourself up and blow everything up. Meet your stumble with compassion and promise to do better tomorrow. Consistency is key.

@MyBetaMod "The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck" by @markmanson It blends some concepts from Stoicism, Buddhism, and modern Psychology while exploring the importance of living a life based in healthy values. Fantastic read all around, I reccomend it to everyone.

All emotions are healthy in moderated amounts. For example: anger can be used to help you identify injustice. But if you don't give yourself space to process it and act rationally it will cause you to be reckless. Know the limits of your emotions and act accordingly.

If you find yourself in difficult circumstances start by accepting those circumstances. Then, make your choices on what to do about those circumstances based on what you believe you will be proud of after the fact It's easy to burn everything down, but you're left with nothing

@DeniseMc68 Chicken, white rice, and spinach salad every day every meal. The chicken recipe I use is fantastic though, certainly makes things easier!

Build resilient habits by tying the habit to something more important. Example: I eat the same thing for lunch & dinner 6 days a week Because my food is tied so heavily to my exercise, which is for my long-term health, it's easy to justify eating the same thing 6 days a week.

@markmanson Most of life's problems come down to perception more than reality. If you're maintaining your physical and mental health you'll feel more in control & able to manage your problems effectively Build a strong foundation to work from with sleep, diet, exercise, & stress management
