My detailed, if rambling, thoughts on hit new frog platformer RUBATO. steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561… I did not like it. Mostly. But it's got a lot of good.

I have seen some insane things happen in this game over my time, but this one has to be the craziest LMFAO

@EpsilonEagle_ After 4 hours I feel similarly lol. But I think it's safe to say if a slow, obtuse, and overwhelming offline MMO doesn't sound appealing at all then this game will not hit. I'm enjoying crawling along so far tho, but I've barely done combat so idk if that's a main draw or not yet

I'm iffy on the NG4 DLC tbh. Scythe is dope but braindead, Ryu's wep is fun but half-baked, new chapters are cool but samey, and Abyssal Road wastes its fresh green essence on a bunch of flat, trivial fights with bosses as the main hurdles

it’s been eons yet whenever i fgc nod at something the image of lucky dropping his water bottle cap still plays in my head

@theonlycures They're great, but pretty similar to what you do in the new chapters already. That's what I mean by the new chapters being "samey", they kinda feel like EX trials 1 and 2 over and over for 3 levels. Cool cuz they're exciting, tough encounters, but could have had more variety imo

@ZackOhto Have you tried the EX1 and 2 trials?

@Miraboreasus @JohnKasarinlan It shows how much unique environments and multiple waves can flesh fights out. Almost every floor of AR lines up the enemies to be instantly folded by scythe BR+B/BR+XXY or void spam. Never have to worry about projectiles from tough spots or a new wave spawning in behind you

@JohnKasarinlan @ZackOhto A huge part of Abyssal road just feels lackluster. Wish some would mod those encounters to be more wild and interesting.

@JohnKasarinlan I hate bosses too. I love how green essence affects the way you play if you're after a high score, but my interest in doing so is annihilated by having to go thru Seele. If the new chapters/trials had green essence then I'd be all over it. Tragic misplacement of a good idea imo

I'm also mixed on the patch's buffs to parry and perfect dodge follow-ups. I still love the game in general tho so any excuse to mess around more is pretty positive overall

RE9 is begging for a ranking system that requires enough credits earned/saved to hit the best rank. It could deepen the challenge for both characters, but mainly would discourage running past most of Leon's encounters

@ZackOhto I'm going through RE9, NG4, Stranger of Paradise, the entire Yakuza series, FF7 and waiting for the fitgirl homura hime crack. I'm eating 6 cakes at the same time, my belly...

I'm still playing Romeo, Absolum, and RE9 when NG4, Scott Pilgrim, and Homura Hime drop with Crimson Desert, Pragmata, and Mahou Arms soon. I can't keep up even after skipping out on Nioh 3

@RadpunkA Who knows what'll be good but I've at least got an eye on He-Man, Saros, Mightreya, Phantom Blade Zero, Control Resonant, Beast of Reincarnation, Onimusha, and Wolverine. Not to mention the smaller indie stuff that's hiding around every corner these days
