@GrimDeath86 @theaccolonn Yes the planet will survive, but we're going to drive many other animals to extinction (we already have eliminated some) through our toxic destruction of resources, habitats, and overconsumption. Our species is by far the most harmful to the entire planetary ecosystem.

@theaccolonn It's sad that you don't believe in the science then because it's all available freely to review. The planet will survive but humans most likely will go close to extinction if this keeps up. Maybe not in our lifetimes but if we cared about the next we should be better

@LilPeachAD @theaccolonn It sure seems like the Boomer generation has done a pretty thorough job of squeezing every last drop of profit they can into their own pockets, and pulling up the ladder behind them. The financial situation for each generation after them has gotten worse than the one before.

@theaccolonn Also, our species is currently at around 8 billion people right now, so there really isn't any need for everyone to squeeze out their own litter of kids. We need to focus on mediating climate catastrophe more than pushing young people to have children.

@theaccolonn I can't really blame them for not wanting to have kids. The climate is in shambles & will only get worse in the coming decades, the economy is shit for most, and at least here in the US where we don't have universal healthcare, paid parental leave, etc, kids are WAY too expensive

This is Princess Lili'uokalani. She became the last sovereign ruler of Hawaii. The photo was taken in 1859 when she was only 21 years old. In 1874, Lili'uokalani's brother, David Kalakaua, became king, and a few years later, she was named the heir apparent. She spent the next few years building schools for the people of Hawaii. In 1881, Liliuokalani served as regent while the king was away on his tour of the world. When a smallpox epidemic broke out on the island of Oahu, she made the quick decision to close down all its ports, which helped contain the spread and ended up saving many lives. However, her decision irked many of the wealthy sugarcane plantation owners. In 1891, her brother died, and she became the ruler of Hawaii. Unfortunately, her reign would be very short-lived as a coup led by Sanford Dole (his cousin founded the Dole Food Company) and several other white businessmen and lawyers, with the backing of the United States, would annex the islands. Two years later, when Lili'uokalani and her supporters attempted to return to power, she was charged with treason and forced to go under house arrest. In order to pardon her supporters, she agreed to yield her power to the United States. "Now, to avoid any collision of armed forces and perhaps loss of life, I do, under this protest, and impelled by said forces, yield my authority until such time as the Government of the United States shall, upon the facts being presented to it, undo the action of its representative and reinstate me in the authority which I claim as the constitutional sovereign of the Hawaiian Islands." She spent the remainder of her life in exile until her death in 1917 at age 79.

I have endometriosis - that serious stomach issues that mimic things like IBS & other serious colon/stomach issues. in additional to the chronic pain from endo, I’m now dealing w/ the pain of a vaginal cyst. Don’t EVER let these people tell you they care about women.

@KeyDecision1 I’m glad to hear that! I sure hope your relief lasts on the longer end of the spectrum for for treating. On a side note, it took months for me to stop looking for my glasses in a panic (especially first thing in the morning) thinking I’d lost them… after my lasik surgery 😂

Still no pain in my back It's going to take a little bit to get used to this I find myself still planting my feet & holding on to things to get up & holding on to sit down but then it isn't necessary

@MeganSantucci @imaginmatrix I literally had to do this at work one day. Had to call my boss’s boss to get my hoodie from my desk & bring it to me in the bathroom. Tied it around my waist, drove home to change, then back to work. Would never wash it in the bathroom sink at work or anywhere else public.

@jkamaralli @sylverkara @FreyaManslayer I’m a cis woman and she is more than welcome to use the same facilities I do. Bigots (whether they’re cis men or cis women) are far more of a problem, not to mention more dangerous to my safety than trans people will ever be.

@smolbutfeisty @ask_aubry Just about the only thing worse is “losing” a tampon (somehow gets turned horizontally & wedged btwn cervix & vaginal wall) and using new ones for the rest of the period, then realizing that there’s one still there days later. Smells like death & burns like acid when removed.

@jeffeffina @Lux_Indulgences @ask_aubry The discomfort of removing a tampon too early (like when you know you won’t have another chance to for a long time so you go ahead with it) is AWFUL. You can feel the delicate tissue being torn a bit as the too-dry tampon is pulled out. I’m so ready for menopause at this point.

@Lux_Indulgences @ask_aubry They will never know the aching discomfort of a poorly seated tampon 😶 It's like being fingered by the cotton devil himself, in case men out there are wondering.

@ask_aubry I dunno about anyone else, but when I’m on my period, especially in the super heavy, soaking through tampons every few hours stage, the LAST thing on my mind is sexual gratification. I just don’t want to hemorrhage all over my clothes.
