Just read some articles on burnout(bad ones) let me tell what the solutions to physician burnout are not 1) docs all getting MBAs 2) getting off social media 3) making more money 4) parodying healthcare administrators as if it’s reality thoughtful solutions people

As I approach the end of my 4th year of residency, I am beginning the job search. The process of finding private group practices and hospitals can be overwhelming. Any advice from those that recently entered the urology workforce?

@jasonryanmd Probably skewed. For the urology community I think majority know what’s going on and the question is which surgical intervention. 1%…. !?

When someone posts a medical image on social media (Xray, EKG, etc) and says “What’s the diagnisis?” about 99% of people don’t know the answer. But only the 1% that do know the answer will comment. Gives the appearance everyone knows when they don’t.

@curious76208787 @FiSurgi @jasonpereira Yeah achieving an actual amount is impossible. Agree with above. Then you have to subtract a million things, operating expense to power said surgeon from electric to MA staff, from OR disposables to etc etc etc.

@FiSurgi @jasonpereira see my comment above..its pretty common that at least through the medicare rvu reimbursement based on cpt code broke down to wrvu (for physician), facility fee, and small bit for malpractice

On average 1 FTE Vascular Surgeon generates $1.7M for the hospital The employed vascular surgeon would be lucky to see 45% of that
