Alice Augusta Ball found the cure for leprosy at 23
She died in a mysterious lab accident at 24
Arthur Dean stole her research, stole it and renamed it from "The Ball Method" to "The Dean Method"
It took 90 years before her original research papers were found (1/2)

On January 13, 2004, British photography student Tom Hurndall died after being shot by an Israeli sniper in Gaza nine months earlier. Tom was a volunteer for the International Solidarity Movement (ISM), and an activist against the Israeli occupation. At 21 years of age, he was shot in the head in April 2003 while trying to rescue children from Israeli gunfire in Gaza. Tom had seen a group of children playing and had noticed that bullets were hitting the ground between them. Several children had run away but some were “paralysed with fear” and Hurndall went to help them. Hurndall’s father told the inquest: “Tom went to take one girl out of the line of fire, which he did successfully, but when he went back, as he knelt down [to collect another], he was shot.” Tom was wearing an orange fluorescent vest to mark himself as an unarmed civilian.

The State of Palestine co-sponsored the resolution and the Palestinian people stand in solidarity with the millions of African victims of trafficking and racialised chattel enslavement.
May this injustice never be perpetrated again; may its enduring racial, economic, ecological and political harms end; and may its victims find reparatory justice and accountability.

@I_amMukhtar @TomSwarbrick1 Shocking!!!
@LBC sacked @SangitaMyska for far less than this!
Sangita stated facts, while Swarbrick retweeted vile Islamophobic slurs!!

This is where we're at @TomSwarbrick1, can retweet a tweet calling Muslims smelly and quietly unretweet knowing that nothing will happen.

If true this would be a huge win for feminism. Women are grossly underrepresented in the dictatorship and authoritarianism fields.

this guy let an AI agent handle his scam texts for a week
a scammer asked him to buy a $500 gift card
the agent spent 4 hours "driving" to target.
sent status updates like "i'm at the red light now, there's a very handsome squirrel on the sidewalk. do you think he's married?"
then it said "i forgot my purse, going back home. wait, this isn't my house"
it sent a screenshot of a captcha to the scammer claiming its "eyes were blurry" and it couldn't see the buttons to wire money
the scammer actually solved the captcha for the AI
the scammer eventually typed: "please just stop talking. i don't want the money anymore. god bless you but leave me alone"
total time wasted for the guy was 14 hours
the script should be open source lol

The Idea that Iran, a country that hasn't bombed a single ambulance or hospital in any country it has targeted during this war, despite their hospitals and schools (120+) being routinely hit, are somehow behind the arson of 4 Jewish ambulances in London, is frankly preposterous.

You're three weeks into a war that has created unforseen, unimagined leverage for you. You control the strait of hormuz and with it a massive chunk of the global economy. You've achieved some sanction relief. You've got most of the globe on your side in what is the most unpopular US war of all time. You have the gulf nations flapping and seriously rethinking their security strategies.
And your next move is to set a couple of old banjaxed ambulances on fire in North London.
