@denimneverdies Women wearing pants was dislike by some in older generations. I remember an old phrase an old man said years ago... "She wears the pants in the family." This indicated to me who he thought had authority. Probably a phrase leftover from times when women mostly wore dresses.

I had a female friend in high school who bought an oversized man's tshirt with luigi on it at a game store just because she liked the design, but when she brought it home, her mom freaked out and took scissors to it to turn it into a more feminine and sexy baby-tee

I love this painting of a Korean cat from the 19th century. In traditional Chinese culture, the word for cat, “mao,” sounded similar to a term associated with people in their seventies or eighties, which gave cats a symbolic link to longevity and long life. This symbolism later carried into Korea, where during the Joseon dynasty, paintings of cats became popular gifts for 60th birthday celebrations, known as hwangap. Reaching 60 was considered a major life milestone, so these artworks represented wishes for health, happiness, and a long life ahead. Unfortunately, the artist behind this particular piece remains unknown. I was hoping to discover more of their work because I absolutely love the cat’s expression—it somehow looks like a modern cartoon character despite being more than a century old.
