@Watchdogg04 @_Hex38_ @SolRidley To be fair those drawbacks mainly exist because of FH, but I'm sure wavedash OOS was a big consideration as well
I think in a game without FH shield would also be a bit weaker just to incentivize movement more but that's just speculation

@_Hex38_ @ZeeBeeOSRS @SolRidley Wavedash oos is and always has been a very good option. It'd be broken if it was lagless. Among other things, you would basically be able to do all grounded options oos in the same way you can do aerials oos, but with none of the drawbacks of being in the air.

as someone who came from games without floorhugging, i've never really understood the complaints and difficulties people have with it. yeah it sometimes limits what you can do in neutral/advantage, but there are always limits. you can't fsmash whenever you want in neutral either

we are really complaining about floor hugging in the big 2026 still huh genuinely don't understand why people feel the need to do this, if you don't like the game please just stop playing and do something else with your time :)

@SolRidley The whole game is designed around this very frustrating situation that ONLY Melee/PM players are default comfortable with. A big section of those players don't even like floorhug for the same reason rivals players hate it! They just put up with it bc the game itself is satisfying

@SolRidley Wavedash isn't instantly actionable because waveland grab would be too strong on platform techchases
The only reason you do platform techchases with grab is because floorhug prevents aerials to consistently provide reward!
