UNICEF demanded that Iranian authorities immediately stop recruiting children for military service. The appeal followed an Amnesty International report labeling the practice a war crime, with evidence of Iran's Revolutionary Guard recruiting volunteers as young as 12 for duties at block posts, patrols and logistics support.

Russia's Ministry of Digital Development admitted that detecting VPN use on iPhones will be difficult due to Apple's security policy. In recommendations sent to major platforms, the ministry outlined three steps to identify VPNs: checking device IP addresses against Russian and blocked lists, verifying bypass tools from their own apps, and inspecting other operating systems. The second step faces major hurdles on iOS because Apple's privacy rules isolate apps and limit access to system settings. Platforms including Sber, Yandex, VK, Wildberries, Ozon and Avito must restrict logins from VPN users by April 15 or risk removal from the whitelist and loss of tax benefits.

@AlexiosKomnin0s @polidemitolog True my friend, I am one of them whose father is Serb and mother is Croatian from Istria and she was born when Istria was part of Italy. I was born later in Croatia part of Yugoslavia and always felt like a Croat - against my dad wishes!🤷♂️

@polidemitolog Once a group of people starts feeling a certain way about its identity then that’s it. There is no point questioning its roots, its legitimacy, its rational etc. It is what it is and it needs to be respected. The Balkans provide plenty of examples as you correctly point out.

For those who think Ukraine belongs to Russia because of cultural closeness: Serbs and Bulgarians are South Slavic nations, with the same religion, speaking languages with enough similarities for partial understanding, sharing many historical patterns and mentality traits, yet they formed separate states because they don't share a single common political identity. They also warred with each other several times in the late modern period as their political ambitions clashed. Therefore, no specific rule exists about one nation staking claim on another because of shared traits.

A network linked to Russian intelligence services ran a large-scale campaign against Argentine President Javier Milei, according to an investigation reported by Le Figaro. The network La Compagnie conducted an influence operation in 2024 that organized about 250 publications in over 20 Argentine online media and spread content on social networks using around 280,000 dollars. It is connected to the SVR and structures linked to the Wagner group.

The New York Times revealed details of a US rescue operation for the crew of a downed F-15E Strike Eagle in Iran, during which the US lost two transport planes. One pilot was saved quickly, while the second officer hid in mountains for over a day. In the nighttime mission with hundreds of special operations troops, US forces extracted the injured officer and flew him to Kuwait. Two HC-130J Combat King II planes and at least one MH-6 Little Bird helicopter were disabled on the ground in Iran and destroyed from the air to avoid capture, making overall US aviation losses in Iran look even more serious.

Weird. As part of a lawsuit with @JudicialWatch, the emails of Pam Bondi and Kash Patel were searched for references to Jeffrey Epstein. Both turned up zero results — which makes no sense, since they had a public communications about Epstein in that time period.

Trump's tariff war with the world has weakened the US in the current war with Iran. On Easter Sunday leaving a restaurant we saw a homeless man in the pouring rain searching the garbage can across the street. I brought him our takeaway containers and some money. He immediately ate the food in the rain. He was starving. This is Ontario. It makes me so angry. 🤬

@polidemitolog On what criteria is the US experiencing ‘serious’ aircraft losses from enemy fire? The only serious loss is the AWACS, and the overall losses are minor. I am having trouble understanding the motivation underlying this motivated reasoning (or perhaps it’s just a regular error).

The Kremlin's attitude toward the Trump Administration was always defined by the rate of neutralization of the United States as a country supporting Ukraine with weapons, finances, and political influence. As far as the Kremlin is concerned, this has been achieved for the most part.
