🔴 Sudan’s PM Kamil Idris at Munich: No Ceasefire Without RSF Defeat and Disarmament In a tense exchange with Channel 4’s Lindsey Hilsum, Sudan’s Prime Minister Kamil Idris defended his peace roadmap and rejected calls for a standalone humanitarian truce. ▪️ Competing peace tracks, no deal yet: Idris pointed to multiple initiatives — including a tripartite effort led by the U.S., Egypt, and Saudi Arabia — and cited Sudan’s own roadmap he previously shared at the U.N.. He made clear that no concrete ceasefire agreement has been reached and that nothing is currently agreed. ▪️ Ceasefire is “not an end”: Idris said a truce “will never work” unless paired with DDR — disarmament, demobilization and reintegration — meaning fighters must surrender weapons, dismantle forces, and be reintegrated to civilian life. All steps must move “concurrently.” ▪️ RSF labeled “mercenaries”: He claimed the Rapid Support Forces have been “dissolved” and are now “a combination of militias and mercenaries,” including foreign fighters from Colombia, Ukraine, etc. ▪️ UAE: Idris said serious talks with Abu Dhabi depend on it halting “weapons or support” to those forces, citing “evidence beyond reasonable doubt” of its extensive backing of the RSF. ▪️ SAF war crimes accusations deflected: When asked about alleged SAF abuses, he said the army acts in “self-defense” to RSF crimes that went beyond “war crimes” and “crimes against humanity.”
