Tawny Owl among the Sycamore, Watercolour, 560 x 380mm. After an absence of a couple of weeks our Tawnies are back, only found with the aid of a Zeiss DTI Thermal Imaging scope, otherwise would have been near impossible to find such was it's position in the canopy. @ZEISSBirding

Took a leap of faith and bought a thermal image camera. A few days in and low and behold, a female Tawny Owl on a house roof opposite! With only a handful of street records over 26 years, I wonder how many I’ve actually missed!!! @ZEISSBirding @BirdGuides @NTBirdClub

Amazing service from East Coast Binocular Repairs and ⁦@ZEISSBirding⁩ After 5 years of hard use for ⁦@RockjumperTours⁩ a good clean and service and they come back good as new ready for Peru and Ethiopia.

This morning, we ringed our Manton Bay chick with the BTO ring 1269435 and Darvic ring 1R0. Stay tuned for a video later today with more details on the measurements we took, but for now, we can confirm that the chick is a healthy male, weighing in at a robust 1.58 kilograms.
