@AllanBoat I’m really sad to hear this news Heather. As you know I, along with many other folk thought very highly of Allan, he was a massive inspiration to so many, & what a packed life too! He is still the only ‘guest’ on a live TV show who has made me cry with uncontrollable laughter!

There is no easy way to tell everybody this but Allan died last of the pulmonary fibrosis that has so debilitated him for the past couple of years. His family and I thank you all for the kindness you have shown him. Heather

Kicked off my 2023 #cairngormnaturefestival @CNPnature with @BC_Scotland and my first wild Kentish Glory - such a cracking moth. I bred them as a kid but never seen this rarity in context. It’s not all eagles & mountains you know!

@rob_yaxley They look like the eggs of a Chironomid midge to me - might be able to use a photo like that for my new book!
